Markets sold off Wednesday ahead of 25% tariff impositions on foreign-made automobiles, and the uncertainty of other on-again, off-again tariff talk.  Markets failed at the 200-DMA and the media alarms sounded! Take caution about reacting to headlines and any market action driven by the news; give it a day or so to confirm whether that break was valid or not. There is rising trend channel coming up off the bottom. The short, saleable rally we saw may be all that we get, so be cautious! We are still in the end of the quarter period, which concludes on Monday; there may still be some buying to be done. We are still on a buy signal, and relative strength is improving. Wednesday was not a good day, technically, for the S&P; but for the Russell 2000, things were worse. And while earnings expectations for the S&P 500 are optimistic, for Mid- and Small-cap companies, they are absolutely flat, with no expectations for growth.
