Pediatric genetic disorders are more common than you may think. The most prevalent genetic disorder, Down syndrome, occurs in approximately one of every 700 live births. Our topic for today, 22q deletion syndrome, is a genetic disorder that occurs in roughly one of every 1200 live births. Even in a relatively small school district, we could run into a handful of kids with 22q. While many of us aren’t experts in this area, Dr. Ed Moss definitely is. He’s worked with 22q kids for over 30 years and is here today to share a wealth of information. Some topics that we cover include:

  • Characteristics of 22q and the behavioral phenotype
  • Cognitive profile variations in 22q kids
  • The typical battery for testing 22q kids
  • Recommendations and intervention for kids with 22q
  • Cool Things Mentioned

    • The Testing Psychologist mastermind groups and business consulting
    • PED-NPSY listserv
    • Ed’s email: [email protected]
    • Book: The Chromosome 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome
    • Genetics in Medicine Article.
