Do you think you're a people-pleaser?
In this episode, I share the many signs that you may be a people-pleaser and ways to overcome it. Through research, I found that many of us fear saying no and feel that it's our responsibility to make others like us. At the end of the day, we all want to be liked, but we must respect ourselves enough to set boundaries.
Growing up, I was always a people-pleaser. I constantly felt like I had to say yes, make sure everyone was okay, and often sacrificed my own happiness to accommodate to others. I recently found this to be very unhealthy and have been working on balancing being considerate, while also setting boundaries and respecting my own time.
Within the past few years, I have gained the confidence to be okay with not being everyone's cup of tea. Living a life revolved around external validation is exhausting, and keeps us from being true to ourselves.
We can't control how others react and feel. It's time to let go of guilt, connect with our inner selves, and make genuine decisions based on our values.
