When someone calls you out of the blue, and you answer, you’re counting on them to give you the exact solution you need at that moment in time. People who take cold calls are the ones without a plan; they fail to realize that any interruption is distracting and takes you out of the game. If you have a plan and know where you’re going, you can’t allow these calls take you out of the flow.

You have to guard your focus as if your life depends on it because it does. Your focus creates your outcomes, and your outcomes shape your life. If you’re not in the place you want in your life, it’s because your focus has been in the wrong place.

Follow these three easy steps to avoid cold calls:

1. Have a plan; distraction is nearly impossible when you have a clear outcome.
2. Have a transparent purchasing process in your business; don’t ever buy anything because someone cold called you.
3. Talk to your team about avoiding phone calls, teach them that cold calls are not part of your companies culture.

If you avoid cold calls, you will have a lot less distraction in your life, you will get more time back, and you will have a higher level of focus.
