After returning from a big stint in Kapchorwa, Jake Smith has returned to the podcast to tell us all about his time training in the Ugandan Highlands. This came about after Jake’s signing with NN Running Team, who have a squad of athletes training there which includes WR holder over 5,000m and 10,000m - Joshua Cheptegei. This was Jake’s first block of training at altitude, and he said that this combined with the relentless hills of the Kapchorwa saw him make massive progress during his five weeks over there. In this episode we discuss the training, diet, terrain, group dynamics of the Ugandan athletes, as well as the plentiful lessons that Jake took away from his experience training with the world’s best.
