Harriett Janetos Bio:

Over 35 years in education, Harriett has taught every grade level K-12: beginning reading to Advanced Placement English. After teaching high school English for 8 years, she took child-rearing leave and spent that time presenting as a teacher-consultant for the Bay Area Writing Project, getting her Master's in writinginstruction, and doing volunteer lessons in her children's elementary school classrooms. Following a move to the elementary school level where she taught kindergarten through fourth grade, she received a reading specialist credential and has worked as a reading specialist for the past 13 years, initially with grades 4th to 6th and then over the past eight years with grades first and second. This year she published an instructional guide to reading, From Sound to Summary: Braiding the Reading Rope to Make Words Make Sense.
