Jason Phillips is a licensed therapist and life coach, specializing in helping individuals achieve their highest level of personal and professional development. Jason focuses on what he refers to as the 3 C’s, Clarity, Confidence, and Consistency.
As a Detroit Native, Jason is a proud graduate of Cass Technical High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan.
As a mental health professional, Jason has worked with various populations to include college counseling, grief and loss, Active Duty soldiers, Veterans, and community mental health. He currently teaches crisis intervention and substance abuse at a local university, and is the owner and CEO of Peace & Prosperity Coaching LLC.
Jason has been featured on various podcasts including Therapy For Black Girls and Shall We Proceed. He’s appeared on Media Personality Spirit’s Free Advice Friday multiple times and recently collaborated with BLANKWardrobe on a series entitled “Wear Confidence” focusing on building/leveraging style and confidence.
In this episode, we touch on the connection between trauma and self-esteem, mental wellness, emotional wellness, emotional validation, along with recognizing unhealed wounds. We also discuss why many people downplay their trauma, how complex trauma healing can be, acknowledging the roles we played in childhood, and more.
