You only live once. Go on, do it. Have the drink. What are you waiting for?
How many times have you been told that? By friends, partners, colleagues, even total strangers. And also how many times have you told that to yourself? Yes, we've all been there. These are the words we often use to encourage us into taking action, into going for it, into drinking when perhaps we don't really want to. Because we don't want to feel left out, we don't want to be deprived or feel like we're we're missing the party. Of course not. That doesn't sound like much fun does it? Who would sign up to a life like that?
Today I talk about the role of pleasure to the human experience, how to understand what we want from our lives and a step by step way to achieve that. I show how “you only live once” can be freeing and expansive. Regardless of what’s going on around you. And regardless of what's in your glass.
Whether you drink to keep the party going or to avoid negative emotions, this episode will make you think differently the next time you hear “go on, you only live once!”
If you are ready to change your relationship with alcohol once and for all, I can help. Let's talk.
I can help you moderate or give up drinking for good.
