Spirituality in underdeveloped regions like West Africa is not the same as spirituality in most of the more developed western world. Is it simply a more superstitious region due to a lack of education and development, or are God and His enemies engaged in more vivid displays of spiritual power? Today’s guest, John Arnold, has spent four decades in West Africa as a missionary, and joins us to share his thoughts and experiences related to the spiritual realities in both places.

What constitutes a miracle? We tend to consider something a miracle if there is no possible explanation to be found in the natural world for an event that has occurred. Anne Bugg and her son Thomas believe they experienced a miraculous stage 4 cancer healing in Thomas through a series of interventions, and provision that they believe could only have been orchestrated by God.
In June of 2022, Thomas Bugg, at just 22 years old was shockingly diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma that included a 11.8 cm tumor in his chest. Some powerful prayer intercessors immediately began praying God’s promises found in scripture over Thomas and his family, including anointing him with oil and the laying on of hands in prayer. From that time on, critical pieces of the puzzle of healing began falling into place, including the timely approval of a new drug treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma just the day before Thomas was to begin his treatment. Eight months later the tumor was gone and Thomas was cancer free. Is this a case of medical science coming through, or is it the miraculous hand of God?

Last week in Episode 81, A Matter of Eternity, Joe Pritchard described how God brought him into faith and an eventual call to preach. But that was just the groundwork for what came next. Today we continue our conversation with Joe Pritchard as he shares the remarkable account of how God called him into planting a growing church, into global missions, and the amazing adventure he was led through as he obeyed God’s calling. He also shares how he experienced a two-year, agonizing spiritual desert before God showed him the way out and back into the love and compassion that guided him before.

When he was 30 years old, Joe Pritchard’s six year old daughter asked him a question about her eternal future that he couldn’t answer. This set in motion a course of events that would lead Joe into a vibrant relationship with the God that he had little real knowledge about just a few months earlier, and even more surprisingly, into an eventual call to become a pastor. You won’t find a more genuine account of God’s movement in the life of an unsuspecting, everyday guy to take him from pride, to faith, to a call to preach.

How can someone speak to sickness and cause it to go away? Scripture tells us that Jesus did it routinely. Is that something we can all do? Steve Russell will tell you that it is, and that as a believer, you have gifts of the power of God available to you that you may not realize are already at your fingertips.
Steve Russell has a gift of being able to describe his own spiritual awakening in a way that helps others more clearly understand what is available to them. If you haven’t heard episode 78, Part 1 of our conversation with Steve Russell, I encourage you to listen to it as some of today’s conversation references last week’s episode. But today, Steve goes deeper as describes his spiritual rebirth, and his baptism in the Holy Spirit, which were two different occasions. He also discusses spiritual gifts intended for you that you may not even be aware of. Some of the things you’ll hear in today’s conversation may challenge some of your more traditional beliefs, and I think that’s a good thing. So let’s pick back up with our conversation on Spiritual Awakening with Steve Russell.

Steve Russell went decades with no faith and no relationship with God even into his early ‘40’s. But in desperation for his wife’s life, he pleaded with God to intervene, and He did. From that point, God led him into spiritual discovery, relationship, rebirth, and a baptism in the Holy Spirit where Steve now actively acts as an agent for spiritual deliverance, physical healing, and other gifts of the power of God promised to believers in scripture. Today begins a powerful two-part series where Steve Russell, author of Awakening: Coming Out of Cold, Dead Religion and into a Relationship with the Living God joins us to detail his own journey of awakening, what prevents most Christians from the “more” that’s waiting for them, and what they can do about it.

Mark Seals lived a life of faith, obedience to God, and even had worldly success in business. As he was beginning work on his doctorate so he could spend his retirement teaching at his local university, he was shocked by a late-stage cancer diagnosis. The spiritual awakening he experienced is a message I believe the Holy Spirit intends for all Jesus followers. Today, Mark Seals shares that critical message with us.

Today’s episode is part 2 of our conversation with deliverance minister Pete Browder. This conversation aims to help inform our listeners about the truth of demonic oppression and deliverance from that oppression to spiritual freedom. When we think of deliverance from demonic oppression, it seems like we think of people overrun with or fully possessed by demons. I think we think of the movie The Exorcist with the bloody-faced, demon-eyed, clearly possessed girl whose head spins completely around on her body, or death metal music lovers bent on violence and anything anti-God, or people involved in the occult. We may even think about the demon-possessed man in scripture who lived in the tombs, wore no clothes, broke shackles he had been chained with, and cut himself with stones until Jesus delivered him and cast the demons into a herd of pigs. I think those are all very dramatic examples of demonic possession and there’s lots of evidence that those things still happen today. But there are also instances in scripture where demons manifested themselves as an inability to speak, blindness, seizures, illnesses, or other less aggressive actions. We often speak of that as demonic oppression vs. demonic posession. Jesus healed and cast out demons that plagued people with a word, and from seemingly everyday, non-satanic people. He even gave that ability to many of His followers who rid scores of people from illnesses and apparently the demonic oppressors behind those illnesses. Could it be that demonic activity is much more common in the lives of good, everyday, Christian people and not necessarily confined to rare occurrences of people involved in satanic practices? Today’s guest is a long-time, successful CEO and business owner who 14 years ago felt strongly called by God to also be an agent for demonic deliverance. In this series, Pete Browder hopes to remove some of the mystery and fear behind demonic oppression, and share his insightful experiences in deliverance ministry so that more people can experience God more fully through freedom from things they may not have fully understood before.
Today is the second part of our conversation with deliverance minister Pete Browder. If you have not listened to the first part of this conversation which is Episode 75, I encourage you to do so. Things we discuss in this episode build on the conversation we had in Episode 75. But today Pete Browder discusses critical specifics as it relates to elements of demonic deliverance, and even walks listeners through a deliverance prayer session where we expect deliverance for many of you.
