Police found a mother and father dead alongside their two teenage sons at a home in Mosman Park.

The sons are understood to have had serious health challenges.

Democrats in the U-S have criticised the latest release of documents related to the late sex offender Jeffery Epstein.

They say it only contains half of the documents, and comes six weeks after a deadline passed to make all the files public under a bi-partisan law passed in November.

U-S President Donald Trump is mentioned hundreds of times in the newly-released tranche of aound three-million documents, while others named include right wing strategist Steve Bannon and billionaire Elon Musk, both of them associates of Mr Trump.

And… United Nations chief António Guterres has warned the global body could run out of money by July.

He's says it's at risk of "imminent financial collapse" due to member states not paying mandatory fees

He's written to all 193 member states saying they must honour their payments, or overhaul the organisation's financial rules to avoid collapse.

It comes after the UN's largest contributor, the United States, refused to contribute calling it a "waste of taxpayer dollars".

Federal senior Liberal MP Angus Taylor has broken his silence amid growing speculation of a leadership challenge.

There has been pressure on Sussan Ley's leadership since she took over in May last year but speculation about her future in the role heightened after last week's dramatic Coalition split.

Conservatives Angus Taylor and Andrew Hastie have discussed who could challenge Ms Ley but Mr Hastie has ruled out a leadership tilt.

Mr Taylor has praised Mr Hastie in a post on social media, saying he's a great asset to the Liberal cause, but he didn't mention his own leadership intentions.

The names of more high profile and powerful men have appeared in the latest batch of files related to the late American sex offender Jeffery Epstein.

The US Justice Department has released more than three million documents along with tens of thousands of videos and images, but in a statement says some documents may contain "untrue" claims.

A number of high profile people are mentioned, including current US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, far right strategist Steve Bannon and billionaire Elon Musk.

Award winning actress Catherine O'Hara, known for her roles in "Beetlejuice" "Schitt's Creek" and "Home Alone", has died at the age of 71 after a short illness.

The news of her death has prompted an outpouring of tributes led by her Home Alone co-star Macaulay Culkin, who said they had so much more to say.

The latest drop of the so-called Epstein files reveals more details about the closeness of the late convicted sex offender's relationship with the former Prince Andrew.  

Epstein offered to put the former prince in contact with a 'very pretty' woman, who he said would be his 'future ex wife'. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor responded saying he'd emailed her but not received a reply.

The US Justice Department has released another three million pages of heavily redacted documents, images and videos related to the late sex offender.

Three people, including two young children, have been injured in a gas explosion on the New South Wales south coast.

Paramedics have treated five patients in Lake Conjola.

Intensive care paramedics and a rescue helicopter have been sent to the scene.

The Bureau of Meteorology says a heatwave that swept across South Australia this week has been historic and record-breaking.

Temperatures reached the high 40's in multiple districts over several days ... with Port Augusta and Andamooka recording a top of 50 degrees.

The bureau says conditions in the state are expected to cool from today.

And... the actor Catherine O'hara - best known for home alone, Beetlejuice and Schitt's Creek - has died at the age of 71. The Canadian-American star, who was also a comedian and screenwriter, died after a short illness.

Macaulay Culkin, who played her son Kevin in Home Alone, has paid tribute - saying he loved her.

The U-S Department of Justice has released three million pages of documents relating to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The largest batch of files to be released by the Department of Justice also includes 2000 videos and 180,000 photos.

It comes more than a month after the legal deadline set by Congress requiring the documents to be made public, but many remain withheld.

Information identifying victims has been redacted.

West Australian backbencher and former soldier Andrew Hastie has ruled himself out of contention for the Liberal leadership, citing a lack of support.

Sources from both the Hastie and Angus Taylor camps say Mr Hastie's withdrawal now leaves Mr Taylor clear to challenge at a time of his choosing, one saying it was a matter of "when, not if" this would happen.

But one conservative Liberal says Mr Hastie's decision to withdraw was "not a guarantee" that Mr Taylor would mount a spill challenge against Opposition leader Sussan Ley.

Homicide detectives are continuing to examine the scene of a suspected murder suicide in Perth.

A family of four, including boys aged 14 and 16, were found dead in their home in the suburb of Mosman park yesterday morning.

Police say no weapon was used and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Canadian-American actress Catherine O'Hara has died, aged 71 after a brief illness .

She was best known for her roles in the films 'Home Alone' and 'Beetlejuice', as well as TV show Schitt's Creek.

During her career, she won two Primetime Emmy awards, a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Liberal MP Andrew Hastie has ruled out challenging Sussan Ley for the Liberal party leadership because he does not have enough support.

Mr Hastie and fellow conservative Angus Taylor have spent the past week negotiating who would run against Ms Ley - her leadership has been under pressure following the Coalition implosion.

Mr Hastie now says he's consulted with colleagues and respects their honest feedback.

And on that basis, he will not be contesting the leadership of the Liberal Party.

WA Police have described a suspected double murder-suicide in Perth's western suburbs as a "devastating tragedy".

The bodies of two teenage boys, their parents and three pets have been found in a home in Mosman Park.

Authorities say no weapon was used and there are no reports of family violence.

A note was found at the premises, but police have not revealed its contents.

The federal, state and territory governments have reached a long awaited deal on public hospital funding, ending a months long stoush.

The commonwealth will fund an additional $25 billion over the next five years as part of the governments record $220billion commitment to the states. 

For months, the Albanese government had been locked in strained and protracted negotiations over the five-year agreement.

The federal government has agreed to pay an extra $25-billion to fund public hospitals and end a stand-off with state and territory governments.

National Cabinet has agreed to top up funding for the smaller states, bringing public hospital spending to $219-billion over the next five years.

They've also agreed to stem growth in the National Disability Insurance Scheme to 6-per cent or less.

Federal Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has announced acting shadow ministers to fill the vacant positions left by Nationals frontbenchers who resigned last week.

As part of that, Shadow Treasurer Ted O'Brien will serve as his own shadow assistant minister.

Ms Ley says the acting arrangements will last for about a week ... warning Nationals leader David Littleproud the changes could become permanent if his party doesn't return to the fold soon. And the federal health minister Mark Buttler says while the government is closely monitoring a deadly virus detected in India, there's been no advice to tighten borders at this stage.

Two confirmed cases of Nipah virus have been reported in West Bengal.
