Furthermore, this extension could play a crucial role in resolving the ongoing legal disputes between the ACC and some of its member schools, notably Florida State and Clemson. These schools have been seeking ways to leave the conference, arguing that the current media rights agreement is not equitable. With ESPN's commitment solidified, the ACC may be in a stronger position to negotiate with these schools and potentially retain them within the conference.  

While the exact financial terms of the extended agreement have not been publicly disclosed, it is expected to be a lucrative deal for the ACC. This financial stability, coupled with the continued exposure provided by ESPN, will be crucial for the conference to thrive in the years to come.
