  • Crimes NZ - Grace Millane
Crimes NZ is one of our favourite segments and we are so pleased we are back with another series of it. Over the next few weeks, we'll be looking at some high-profile cases. The title kind of hints at this - but just a warning that this interview deals with some of New Zealand's most serious crimes... murder, kidnapping and sexual abuse, so please take care about who's listening around you. If you need to talk to someone - there are free, trained counsellors at Helpline. Just call or text 1737. In this episode of Crimes NZ, we're looking into the murder of Grace Millane. The 22-year-old British backpacker had been in New Zealand for two weeks before she was brutally killed by New Zealander Jesse Kempson. Reporter Alice Wilkins covered the trial for Newshub, she spoke to Jesse.

The most famous shipwreck in the world is undoubtably the RMS Titanic. Despite sinking 114 years ago, we remain fascinated. What's less well known is the human stories that go along with the vessel. An immersive exhibition - 'Titanic: The Human Story' makes it's NZ debut later this month. Jesse spoke to the exhibition's creator Luis Ferreiro Aguirre.

  • New secondary school subjects to equip students for the future
What was your favourite school subject? It probably had nothing to do with AI - and likely wasn't something called next-gen manufacturing or applied intelligent systems. • Feature interview: Why Gen Z sees work differently
Work hard and success will follow. It's the promise many generations grew up with. But Gen Z isn't buying it, not because they're lazy or entitled, but because they no longer believe the deal applies to them says journalist Emi Nietfeld. She knows that promise well. She went from homelessness to Harvard to Google by following the traditional path to success. For years, she was invited to speak at university campuses as proof that hard work pays off. But in a recent essay for The New York Times, she argues her story now feels like it belongs to another era. Young people, she says, aren't rejecting work, they're rejecting a bargain that no longer seems to exist.
