In this episode of Beyond The Pitch, Juan is joined by the sensational Alexis Nunes of ESPN. Juan discusses Alexis’ and her beginnings in media over in Jamaica and her eventual move to the United States. She talks about her roots in both Jamaica and El Salvador and how that changed her perspective on many things based on the way she covers sports. Juan also talks to Alexis in regards to the impact she has had on the female journalists in the Caribbean and what she has been able to do and establish alongside some of the most established journalists in the region and how her colleagues and family have been so important for her career. Juan also teases her about all the ackee and jackfruit pictures he used to send her when she was recently moving up to Bristol. In the process, they also exchange stories about life in Connecticut and working at the Worldwide Leader from totally different perspectives. In addition to that, they talk about how they briefly crossed paths while Alexis was still working at SportsMax in the Caribbean. There is also football talk as Alexis also discusses her affinity for Manchester United and how she sees them this season. That as well as Juan trying to act like he knows a thing or two about cricket, but fails miserably. This is a great interview that offers a different perspective of a great all-around individual that has truly established herself in Bristol. All this and a promise of a "potluck show" in the future when she comes to South Florida. You can follow Alexis on Twitter over at @AlexisENunes
