Ambient Soundbath Podcast

This episode of the Ambient Soundbath Podcast features a new original work by Matt Borghi (me) called Infinite Resonance. It’s a single track, long-form work that I’ve found works great for rest, relaxation, sleep and meditation. It probably works pretty good for yoga, too, but I haven’t tried it out in that capacity yet. This…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #62 – Infinite Resonance

https://archive.org/download/AmbientSoundbathPodcast/asb61.mp3 I’ve featured Off Land before on the Ambient Soundbath, but I’ve never dedicated an entire program to Off Land, the work of Tim Dwyer. This program features the tracks from the first two of, an ever-growing collection, known as, the (Drone Variations). I struggle to write about these tracks, not from a lack of…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #61 – Off Land

This episode of the Ambient Soundbath Podcast features the work of my favorite living composer, Harold Budd. I have listened to, meditated with and analyzed no music more (save, maybe, Claude Debussy) than I have the work of Harold Budd. His music is like being a hugged by an old friend after a long journey.…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #60 – Harold Budd

I first stumbled upon Moby’s Long Ambients after they were released in early summer of 2016. As a long-time fan of Moby’s ambient work I was excited by this free release, which is still available here: http://moby.com/la1/ – The complete 4-hour collection instantly became a meditational and relaxation go-to recording for me, as it’s calming…Read more Ambient Soundbath #59 – Moby – Long Ambients

I’ve wanted to do an Ambient Soundbath that featured Manitou for a long time, but just never got around to it. I think that I finally did it, at least, partially because an upcoming performance that I’ll be doing called Leelanau Uncaged, in Northport, Michigan, where I’ll be featuring Manitou live for the first time…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #58 – Manitou

This episode of the Ambient Soundbath features an original work called Parallax Drone. It’s a work that I created after spending time listening back to previous episodes of the Soundbath, something that I’ve never really done before. For some, I imagine, the track might be a little too noisy, or droney or abstract, maybe even…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #57 – Parallax Drone

Ambient Soundbath #56 features the music of Canadian composers, Mychael Danna and Tim Clement, who, for a time in the 1980s and 1990s created a series of sublime recordings bringing together field recordings and acoustic-electronic sound synthesis. For me their music typified the best that new age music could be combining the natural sounds with…Read more Ambient Soundbath #56 – Danna and Clement

This episode of the Ambient Soundbath is comprised exclusively of the work of Altus (aka Mike Carss). Altus has put out many recordings (nearly 30+ recordings in fifteens years) of lush, well-crafted and superiorly composed music. All of which are free to listen to and download on his website. I once tweeted that ‘Altus is the music that I imagine…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #55 – Altus

Last “Origins” program for a while, as I wanted to capture some of the early tracks that inspired me, particularly Ocean of Tenderness and God Moving Over the Face of Waters… Steve Roach, Harold Budd and Jason Sloan all had an early impact, as well… Whereas Offland is one of the great new artists that continues…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #54 – Origins 2

Keeping it short and sweet for this episode with a handful of tracks that, for me, are part of the origin story of the Ambient Soundbath. Artist such as Harold Budd, Jason Sloan, Diatonis and Kit Watkins have inspired me at every turn. These are only single selections, but if you were to explore these artists…Read more Ambient Soundbath Podcast #53 – Origins 1
