We received a message from ‘Jamie’ on Friday - Who said that her and other students were left outside the school due to their hair not being correct.

My hair was done on Tuesday afternoon. i went to do dreads because as a matric student i really don’t have the time to be battling with my hair on a daily basis. my natural

hair is an afro. however as most women who do their hair know when you do dreads

you really only have minimal options as to colour. I had to choose between blonde

dreads which obviously violated the code of conduct , or the dreads i have now which

are black with brown ends. not light brown, just brown. Black and brown which ARE

BOTH natural colours are now apparently against the code of conduct however non of

us were made aware?

generation Z has always been a generation pushing individuality and glenvista high is

stripping us of that. And not to mention we were left outside the school for at least 20-25

minutes UNSUPERVISED. what would the school have said should any of the girls

have gotten hurt while being outside?

The rules being placed are ridiculous because the school has gone as far as to say that

the waves aren’t allowed. and the inequality is crazy.
