If the uncontrollable urges of the animal morphs speak to a fear of puberty, does the threat of losing control to a Yeerk speak to fears of growing up and conforming? What makes Marco such a compelling character? What are our predictions for what will happen with Visser 1? Just how special is Chris' OCD diagnosis?

Note: we'll be taking a few weeks off to rest and record a bunch of new content! We will return mid-January with Book 17. We love you all!

Book 16 ends with Joe Bob Fenestre revealing that he’s been slurping Yeerk. Jake’s mother shares that she is in possession of two weapons, though unfortunately neither of them is a broad sword. 

Are we the only ones who find the ending of this book to be incredible, but the beginning and middle to be a bit forgettable? How disappointed was Jake to learn that his mom’s secret “weapons” were figurative?  Is Gump doomed to die trying to pet a wolf now that Cassie approached him as one? Is a plunger or a thick boba straw more useful for getting a Yeerk out of a brain?

Why is Fenestre more capable of fending off the Animorphs than the US military or even Visser 3 himself? Is Jake's failure to delegate tasks his fatal flaw? Just how many butt slaps are there in sports nowadays? What type of video game makes most sense for an Animorphs adaptation: a visual novel, a Telltale game? Would Marco be a Fortnite kid, flossing his way to Fenestre? What generic office title would be most appropriate for each Animorph?  And does Marco really hate Tobias, or is he just jealous that he and Jake didn't do their first morph together, that the two of them never played with a string?

The gang breaks into an office building and puts on a little show for the employees. Jake nearly dies and then has a totally normal dinner with his totally normal family.

In this book, Jake is the leader of the Animorphs, but he’s also pretending to be a leader, as well as a son and a brother. In a different way, Tom is Jake’s brother, but he’s also a Yeerk pretending to be his brother. What is this book (and the series generally) trying to tell us about performance??

Better question,  why does no one send telegrams any more? Has anyone ever seen a fly on an airplane? If the Animorphs acquire human morphs without consent, is that as bad as what the Yeerks are doing by infesting humans? Should the Animorphs also be an improv comedy team??

Book 16 is gross and dark, with everything from Yeerk cannibalism to Jake getting eviscerated as a fly to dirty diapers to... Tobias almost getting crushed by poop in an airport toilet? The Animorphs meet the Internet and talk to strangers in a chatroom who may or may not all be Yeerked. 

Did they seriously almost kill Tobias in a toilet? Does Chris still hate Eddy and Miranda? What would be a better Animorphs party game: Swat the Jake or Pin the Nipple on the Andalite? Is it Michael Grant or KA Applegate that hates flying so much that they used "disgorging" to describe passengers leaving an airplane? And is this the first book in a very long time that none of the Anidorks are really sold on??

Book 15 concludes with a standoff between Vissers 1 and 3, Marco finally revealing the truth about his mom to the rest of the Animorphs, and the question of whether Marco will remain a prisoner of hope.  What do you mean this is a book for children?!

Why does this book feel like it has the emotional weight of a main series book, but the self-containment of a bubble episode? Rachel is mad at Marco for not killing Visser 1 when he had the chance, but doesn't she  miss an opportunity to do the same with Visser 3 in the same book? Did Jake secretly force Marco's hand on revealing the secret of his mother's identity to the others? Does having a Yeerk inside of your head make you hotter? Is it ever funny to ask your friends not to kill your mom? And will Marco

Not that the Anidorks need to announe yet another project that will never be realized, but wouldn't Council of 13 be an incredible social deduction game?
