This seasonal pattern of Summer weakness will present the potential for a rally in the 4th quarter. The markets are over-sold, which could foretell a reflexive rally. Remember, this market is essentially still being led by seven stocks, and is up a little over 11% for the year as a result...but a look at the equal-weight index reveals markets are essentially flat for the year.
