Around The 412

The Pittsburgh Penguins kept their playoff hopes alive on Thursday by winning their third consecutive game, securing 2 points in Washington over the Capitals. Alex Nedeljkovic was fantastic yet again, as he continues to show why he should start in place of Tristan Jarry. Michael Bunting continues to provide an element the team didn't have prior to his acquisition and fit in like a glove. Very much in the thick of the playoff mix, but with a tough schedule ahead, we discuss how we got to this point and the playoff-like feel of each game. Let's discuss all of this and more!

The Pittsburgh Pirates are off to a 5-1 start through the first week of the MLB season. Manager Derek Shelton has pushed a lot of the right buttons, the lineup has come through time and time again and they always seem to have an answer. The bullpen depth has been tested but has been as good as advertised. Jared Jones had a stellar MLB debut and looks to carry that over into his second start, which will be the team's Home Opener. Connor Joe, Michael A. Taylor, Bryan Reynolds, Ke'Bryan Hayes and Oneil Cruz have all gotten off to great early starts. Aroldis Chapman is still hitting triple digits. What do we make of this hot start? Let's discuss!

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to trade wins and losses as we near the end of the regular season. While the team isn't quite yet dead, they might as well be. So, what are we watching for at this juncture? Sidney Crosby is on that very short list. He is just 5 points away from 82 on the season and clinching his 19th point per game season, which would tie Wayne Gretzky for the league record. Recently recalled Sam Poulin is getting another shot and maybe the final look that he will get. Michael Bunting continues to fit in well and show an element the team didn't have prior to his acquisition. Let's discuss all of this and more!

The Pittsburgh Steelers have reshaped their wide receiver room following the Diontae Johnson trade. Quez Watkins and Van Jefferson have been added to the mix and Cordarelle Patterson may play a role there, but there are still very much questions about the top of the depth chart. Is the team done adding until the NFL Draft? Which positions should we be looking at early in the draft? Why hasn't the team picked up Najee Harris' fifth-year option yet? All this and more on today's Around the 412 Steelers Show!
