  • The Daily Mess Airports With Puppy Rest Areas Plus The Art Of Not Snoring At Night
I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   When did airports start including special rooms to take your dog for a potty break before the next flight?  Plus…how does raising your head stop a person from snoring all night?   I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

  • Reckoning From Author And CEO Jim Minarik Tragedy Triumph And Trancendence Oh And Murder
When Jim Minarik was 17, his 23-year-old brother committed murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Minarik did not understand it at the time, but he began running. He ran literally, eventually completing seven marathons. And he ran figuratively—away from Pittsburgh, away from the pain surrounding his family, and toward achievement. He became remarkably good at succeeding. Over a four-decade career, including 25 years as a CEO, Minarik took a company public on NASDAQ and built another into a billion-dollar-plus enterprise. From the outside, he had won. But success could not outrun everything. Two episodes of clinical depression, the transition out of an all-consuming career, and questions that achievement could no longer answer, forced him into a different journey.Who are we when the title goes away? What happens when achievement no longer provides the next answer? And after a lifetime of becoming exceptionally good at doing, can a person learn simply to be? Those questions became the foundation of Reckoning: A Journey Through Tragedy, Triumph, and Transcendence. The story ultimately circles back to where it began. Nearly 20 years after last seeing his brother, Minarik was allowed to visit him in a hospital intensive-care unit near the end of his life. His brother had been unconscious for weeks and remained shackled to the bed. Minarik sat beside him, held his hand and cared for him. After weeks without speaking, his brother quietly repeated two words three times: “No more.” No one can know exactly what he meant. No more pain. No more prison. No more walls. For Minarik, the moment became another reckoning—with his brother, with the forces that had shaped his own life, and with the question at the heart of the book: What really matters when all the striving is over? Today, at 73, Minarik is still asking that question—not as someone claiming to have all the answers, but as someone willing to speak candidly about tragedy, ambition, depression, marriage, success, aging, and the search for meaning.

  • Buddhist Practices For Overcoming Depression From Tim Desmond
Tim Desmond's new book, Buddhist Practices for Overcoming Depression, the second release in his profound Buddhist Practices series. In this accessible resource of hope, Desmond weaves together early Buddhist psychology and the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh to explore how depression grows from patterns of self-criticism, shame, and learned helplessness—and how these patterns can be shifted. This visionary guide offers depression recovery support through interwoven teachings on loving-awareness, impermanence, and wholesome mental formations. Desmond breaks down how to recognize the energy of difficult emotions, and how to cultivate connections and joy to strengthen resilience when readers need it the most.

  • Finish Line From OG8 Roars Through A Live Crowd Scoring The White Line
It might sound funny to have an album’s first single be titled “Finish Line” but for the band Original 8 (OG8), its starting and ending points have never been determined by anyone other than themselves. Is it a race to place first? Or is it a personal accomplishment that has been stirring one’s soul for decades. Only the listener can decide.  “Finish Line”, a track that weaves together rock and Americana canvases, is from OG8’s “Recognize” album due October 14 via Beat Farm Music. The album is named after OG8 lead singer Jaime Lynch’s personal mantra. It’s also par for the course; in OG8’s previous 2025-26 releases “W.O.M.A.N” and “Change”, a common thread of self-empowerment and a slight sense of a chip on their shoulder has listeners immediately connected to the band’s positive outlook.
