  • ROBLOX Versus Screen Time Who Wins Dr Elizabeth Milovidov Uncovers The Connection
As kids head back to the classroom, families are transitioning from the more relaxed routines of summer to the structure of a new school year. For many households, that also means taking a fresh look at screen time, gaming and other digital habits. The start of the school year offers parents and caregivers an opportunity to reset expectations and establish healthy digital routines that support sleep, homework, learning and downtime. Digital parenting and education experts are available to share practical strategies families can put into place as the school year gets underway, including:Pair parental controls with conversation: Built-in controls, including screen-time and spending limits, can give parents useful guardrails for their child's online experience. But those tools can be most effective when paired with ongoing conversations that help kids develop self-regulation and responsible digital habits.Focus on how kids are spending their screen time: Not all screen time is the same. Gaming can provide opportunities for learning, creativity and collaboration with friends, especially when players become creators on platforms like Roblox. Through Roblox Kids and Select accounts, families can also discover educational experiences in the Learning Hub covering a variety of real-world topics and skills.Understand your child's digital world: Parents can explore the platforms and games their children use rather than simply monitoring from the sidelines. On Roblox, parents can get in the game themselves and use resources such as Family Zone, an immersive game on the Roblox platform, to better understand their child's online experience.Help kids build important life skills: Digital boundaries can be used to teach children how to manage their time, take ownership of their routines and navigate online spaces responsibly.Create consistency between home and school: Aligning digital rules at home with school expectations can help kids understand when it's time to focus on learning and when there's time for gaming and other leisure activities. Dr. Elizabeth Milovidov is the Senior Director of Global Parental Advocacy at Roblox where she focuses on building partnerships and programs to help equip parents and caregivers with the tools to help their families navigate Roblox and the digital world.

  • Honoring Local Franchise Owners Nationwide Tony Zacarrio
From the restaurant where you grab lunch to the neighborhood gym, childcare center, home repair company or auto shop, many of the familiar businesses Americans rely on every day are franchises. But what consumers may not realize is that behind the nationally recognized name is often a local entrepreneur who owns the business, employs local workers and invests in the community. This week, 89 of the nation’s top franchise owners are gathered in Washington, D.C., to be honored as 2026 Franchisees of the Year, offering a unique opportunity to hear directly from award-winning local business owners about what it takes to run a successful franchise and the people behind some of the brands consumers see every day. Nominated by their parent brands, the honorees are recognized for their community involvement, commitment to building strong workforces, support of fellow franchisees and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the contributions they make to their businesses and communities. The International Franchise Association (IFA) has named these entrepreneurs its 2026 Franchisees of the Year, recognizing outstanding franchise owners for excellence in entrepreneurship, community involvement, workforce development and service to others. The honorees represent businesses and communities across the country and a wide range of industries. There are approximately 832,000 franchise establishments across the U.S., providing nearly 8.8 million direct jobs and generating more than $907 billion in economic output. According to Oxford Economics, franchising on average provides higher wages and better benefits than non-franchised businesses, as well as greater entrepreneurial opportunities to minorities, women, veterans, and other underrepresented communities. The award winners are in Washington as part of IFA’s annual Advocacy Summit, which is bringing together more than 500 franchisees, franchisors and business leaders. In addition to recognizing the Franchisees of the Year, attendees will meet with members of Congress to discuss issues affecting the franchise business model, including the American Franchise Act, legislation addressing the federal joint-employer standard.

  • Friendships Never Truly End Bob Victorin Takes Us Inside The Wilderness Of Friendship
The Wilderness of Friendship offers a counterpoint to the consensus that there is an epidemic of loneliness among men in the United States. Four men, friends since their days at Vanderbilt Divinity School, explore and describe the values and actions of more than forty years of friendship. Among them are hospitality of place and ideas, risking vulnerability to share life fully, a shared wonder at the amazing blessings of life, and a love for the wilderness, both literal and metaphorical, where there is always more going on than can be understood in the moment. What emerges is one vision of what it means to be a man, husband, father, friend: open, teachable, and above all, joyful.

  • The Daily Mess Judgement vs Opinion Plus Paying Side Hustle Taxes Are A Must
I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Is there a difference between sharing an opinion and judging someone? Has recycling metal become the hot new side hustle? More importantly do we have to pay taxes?   I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…
