  • How Could Something That Loud Come From Someone So Small David Roberts' Protecting Whitney
David Roberts was Whitney Houston's bodyguard, the real one. Roberts was hired in 1988 for Houston's UK portion of the Moment of Truth world tour. Accustomed to working for diplomats and Fortune 500 clients, Roberts had reservations about working with a pop star. But Houston's heart of gold won him over from the moment they met at Heathrow airport. There's a high bar for those who work in this business: you must be willing to die for your boss. Houston made that easy. Roberts got to travel the globe with one of the most fun-loving and generous souls he'd ever met. His memoir reveals heartwarming anecdotes of life with one of the world's most recognizable stars, including privately shared moments such as the birth of Bobbi Kristina. But there are also shocking and heartbreaking revelations. Roberts was present for some of Houston's most challenging ordeals. And he was helpless as he watched those who claimed to love and support her look the other way because they saw her voice box as a cash machine. His heart was ultimately shattered as he witnessed her succumb to the one threat he could not protect her from: herself.

  • The Daily Mess Why Is Cooking So Important To Kids Plus Can We Have Too Many Chefs In The Kitchen
I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. • When Making A Movie Truly Turns Into A Cinderella Story Lisa Cheek Author Of Sit Cinderella Sit
Sometimes life needs just a little push.  Such as when Film Editor Lisa Cheek was abruptly fired from doing the work she loved, cutting television commercials.  Two days later she got a call at 2:45am – from  cinematographer and director Rober Owen who knew and valued her work.

That call brought Lisa into the director’s vision of filming the original story of Cinderella, written in China in 768 AD, in China.  But Lisa had to say yes, now, and be on location to hit the ground running in just several weeks.  Thinking back to when she first saw Cinderella at the age of five, etched into her memory as, “the most magical story”, she couldn’t say no.

Reality soon hit, however, when Lisa realized the film would be told entirely in Mandarin – a language she didn’t speak.  In her new book, SIT, CINDERELLA, SIT: A Mostly True Memoir, readers can follow Lisa as she worked to put it all together throughout ancient locations in extremely rustic and remote villages near the Tibetan Border.  Meanwhile, missing her beloved terrier back home, Lisa rescued two dogs – one an abandoned puppy, and the other an abused dog she named Cinderella.  A true story about a lonely woman who came into her own will appeal to animals lovers and anyone who appreciates the satisfaction of a hard earned happily-ever-after.

  • NY Times Best Selling Author TJ English Digs Into The World Of Cocaine In The Last Kilo
Despite what Scarface might lead one to believe, violence was not the dominant characteristic of the cocaine business. It was corruption: the dirty cops, agents, lawyers, judges, and politicians who made the drug world go round. And no one managed that carousel of dangerous players better than Willy Falcon.A Cuban exile whose family escaped Fidel Castro's Cuba when he was eleven years old, Falcon, as a teenager, became active in the anti-Castro movement. He began smuggling cocaine into the U.S. as a way to raise money to buy arms for the Contras in Central America. This counter-revolutionary activity led directly to Willy's genesis as a narco. He and his partners built an extraordinary international organization from the ground up. Los Muchachos, the syndicate founded by Falcon, thrived as a major cocaine distribution network in the U.S. from the late 1970's into the early 1990's. At their height, Los Muchachos made more than a hundred million dollars a year. At the same time, Willy, his brother Tavy Falcon, and partner Sal Magluta became famous as championship powerboat racers. Cocaine, used by everyone from A-list celebrities to lawyers and people in law enforcement, came to define an era, and for a time, Willy Falcon and those like him-major suppliers, of whom there were only a few-became stars in their own right. They were the deliverers of good times, at least until the downside of persistent cocaine use became apparent: delusions of grandeur, psychological addiction, financial ruin. Thus, the War on Drugs was born, and federal authorities came after Falcon and his crew with a vengeance. Willy found himself on the run, his marriage and family life in shambles, the halcyon days of boat races and lavish trips to Vegas and parties at the Mutiny night club seemingly a distant memory. T. J. English has been granted unprecedented access to the inner workings of Los Muchachos, sitting down with Willy Falcon and his associates for many lengthy interviews, and revealing never-before-understood details about drug trafficking. A classic of true-crime writing from a master of the genre, The Last Kilo traces the rise and fall of a true cocaine empire-and the lives left in its wake.
