Today's question is about scaling up a drone service business. Is it possible for a drone service business to become a $100 million business?
Our caller for today, Ken from NJ has come up with a great question that has not been asked on Ask Drone U before. We all know about multi-billion dollar corporations like DJI and Intel that are at the forefront of drone technology. But, is it possible for a drone service provider to evolve into a $100 million business? What are some critical attributes necessary to achieve this level of success?
To answer Ken's question, we cite examples of the likes of DroneDeploy who have managed to resolve problems at a mass scale. In the process, they have grown into multi-million dollar corporations with thousands of clients. Our first story is about the DJI Phantom Pro V2. As per the latest rumors and industry reports, DJI is all set to resume the production of this much-loved drone in January 2020. This is certainly great news for professional pilots who are looking for a versatile solution that is suitable for aerial photography, videography, and mapping.

In our recent article, "Who Will Build the Next Honda Civic of Drones?", Paul had explained why the DJI Phantom remains his favorite drone to date. While the Mavic 2 Pro may be great for aerial photography, the absence of a global shutter means that you cannot build a profitable drone mapping business using this drone. In our next story, we share some interesting CES 2020 updates. Like every year, all consumer technology majors shall be participating in CES 2020 which will be held from January 7-10 in Las Vegas. How to Shoot World-Class Drone Panos
Today's show is about producing drone panos. What are some recommended software, workflow and productivity tips for producing the best possible panoramas?
Our caller for today, Aaron is a regular ADU listener, and is looking for some tips and tricks to produce world-class drone panos. Specifically, what is the best shooting and editing workflow? Can you get better panos by shooting in manual mode as against auto mode? And, which is the best software to edit a drone pano?
To answer Aaron's question, we first share Vic's shooting and editing workflow. Vic prefer to shoot single images in 5-shot bracketing, manually change camera settings, and then stitch all the images together.
