The world is full of people afraid of their voice, their power. We push away the right to stand out and be strong for the sake of belonging. To do this we devalue our ideas, we learn to always stay with the masses - to always say ‘Yes’ - regardless of wanting to say no, we learn not to love ourselves in order to gain the love of others, we disapprove of our inner truth in order to get approval from outside of us.

Each relationship you have plays a different role in your life. Perhaps some serve a single purpose and then they’re gone, some may be life long friends - where you’re always connected, always learning, teaching and going through life’s phases together, and some can fit in the middle - those relationships that you pick up right where you left off.

But too often we find ourselves trying to maintain relationships that are no longer serving us, or relationships that just aren’t in alignment with the phases or season we’re in now. If you never allow any connections to fall away how can you be open to what life wants to bring in for you?

Self Betrayal...it's the death of a thousand cuts.

Self Betrayal can look like people pleasing, sabotaging yourself, not validating your experience, hiding who we are from fear of not being accepted, the list is long -- and although each small action is insignificant in it's entirety, over a lifetime it can fully detach us from who we are.

Everyone wants to jump to self-trust and self-love but the bridge there is to get to know yourself... I mean you wouldn't establish trust with a stranger right? and therein lies the key -- to trust ourselves, to love ourselves, we first have to start showing up for ourselves.

Come and listen because this one is a roller coaster of emotions.

An unhealed mother wound can manifest into adulthood in the following ways:

1. a lack of boundaries, can't say 'no'

2. constant fear of judgement

3. comparisonitis

4. you sacrifice your dreams/wants for someone else

5. co-dependent (this one is a big!)

6. low self-worth (this could look like negative self talk)

7. self-sabotage

It's our strongest bond - the bond between a child and a mother. They are our lifeline, our survival depends on them (both literally in the womb and figuratively as we grow up as children).

Did you have what most would consider a 'good' childhood? mother wounding happens just as often in these upbringings as ones that are volatile and abusive. We can be wounded by our direct interactions with her and through observing how our mother interacts with the world. All of these events imprint on our subconscious and we can carry forward these patterns into adulthood.

These types of coping mechanisms and patterns can surface in all relationships in your life, not just the ones with your own children.
