Today we're talking all relationships - Friendship, marriage, family, long term partnerships...
Each relationship you have plays a different role in your life. Perhaps some serve a single purpose and then they’re gone, some may be life long friends - where you’re always connected, always learning, teaching and going through life’s phases together, and some can fit in the middle - those relationships that you pick up right where you left off.
But too often we find ourselves trying to maintain relationships that are no longer serving us, or relationships that just aren’t in alignment with the phases or season we’re in now. If you never allow any connections to fall away how can you be open to what life wants to bring in for you?
So why do we do this and what exactly does it cost us? Well you’re about to find out….
On today’s episode we’re talking about what codependency is and we’re going deep into how this holds us back and what it creates in our lives and relationships. This has been a game changer realization for both Tess and Christina and we think it will be for you too.
If any of these describe you than press play:
You put everyone else's needs before your own, you have a hard time telling people what you really want (what restaurant, what activities...)
You rely on others for decision making/approval before making decisions
You feel constantly responsible to solve other peoples problems
Trying to please others in order to gain their love and acceptance
Using manipulation and shame to get what we want
High-achiever
What if our past experiences and traumatic events were showing up physically in our bodies? Energy cannot be created nor destroyed and many believe stuck energy can show up as physical/psychological ailments. Join us as we dive deep into Tess's battle with auto-immune disease and Christina's exploration of ADHD. This episode will cover run ins with the medical system and what other key pieces we might not be addressing which could aid in our healing journey.
Looking to make some changes? Wanting to jump into meditation or spirituality but not sure where to start? Then this episode is for you, consider it our playbook for where to begin.
In today's episode (Part 1) we dive into our favourite podcasts, books, card decks and other tools that have been transformative on our journeys, next week (Part 2) will cover all of the practices we have tried and what a day in each of our lives looks like with these practices integrated.

Self Betrayal...it's the death of a thousand cuts.
Self Betrayal can look like people pleasing, sabotaging yourself, not validating your experience, hiding who we are from fear of not being accepted, the list is long -- and although each small action is insignificant in it's entirety, over a lifetime it can fully detach us from who we are.
Everyone wants to jump to self-trust and self-love but the bridge there is to get to know yourself... I mean you wouldn't establish trust with a stranger right? and therein lies the key -- to trust ourselves, to love ourselves, we first have to start showing up for ourselves.
Come and listen because this one is a roller coaster of emotions.
An unhealed mother wound can manifest into adulthood in the following ways:
a lack of boundaries, can't say 'no'
constant fear of judgement
comparisonitis
you sacrifice your dreams/wants for someone else
co-dependent (this one is a big!)
low self-worth (this could look like negative self talk)
self-sabotage
It's our strongest bond - the bond between a child and a mother. They are our lifeline, our survival depends on them (both literally in the womb and figuratively as we grow up as children).
Did you have what most would consider a 'good' childhood? mother wounding happens just as often in these upbringings as ones that are volatile and abusive. We can be wounded by our direct interactions with her and through observing how our mother interacts with the world. All of these events imprint on our subconscious and we can carry forward these patterns into adulthood.
These types of coping mechanisms and patterns can surface in all relationships in your life, not just the ones with your own children.
This is perhaps one of the most important and most transformative areas for healing!!! Take a listen

Maybe it's to exercise regularly, maybe it's to leave a toxic relationship, whatever it is - taking action and actually changing can be paralyzing for most. We've all been there, a big traumatic event or a number of compounding experiences in life that sends us on a whirlwind of emotions, where we feel we will never recover. If you've ever felt that you've arrived at that place, perhaps you even keep repeating the same patterns, then this episode is for you.
We've heard the terms - rock bottom, mid-life crisis, etc - those serve to correct our course and get us back to our authentic self. Join us as we dive into the purpose and explanation of what rock bottoms and spiritual awakenings are and our personal experiences navigating through them.
Are you living the life you truly desire? are you fully embodying who you authentically are? perhaps you don't even know. Join Tess and Christina, creators and co-hosts of Authentically Wild, as they dive into topics from relationships, motherhood, trauma, to of course all things spirituality.
