Believe it or not, there's a portion of the PCOS population who are not obese or overweight and have signs of PCOS, even if there has not been any formal diagnosis. The majority of the women I have worked with who have PCOS are of the lean phenotype. Most doctors catch PCOS in overweight women, but it's still very easy to miss a diagnosis for a young, lean woman. In this episode, I break down some of the evidence showcasing PCOS characteristics in lean women and what to look for.
