This is episode 124 of Baltimore County Forever Podcast. We have my man Norm on, and a short guest appearance by Lauren. This week’s episode starts with us covering the quarantine hot topics including the forthcoming stimulus checks and the IG live DJ battles. We also get into our Hip Hop history moments with the 23rd anniversary of BIG’s Life After Death, and some facts on who wrote Puff’s verse on All About the Benjamins, plus more.

 

This week’s playlist discussion features “New Apartment” by Ari Lennox. Lauren and I share a funny story about the lyrics I made to this song, and just making up words to songs in general.

“305 to My City” by Drake is also on the playlist. Norm shares the phase of his life that his parents couldn’t wait for him to outgrow. Then we discuss the worst song our favorite artist has released and how it made us feel.

 

Monica’s “A Dozen Roses” is also on the list this week. We discuss Monica’s greatness as an artist, her big sister vibes, and her beginnings in the music industry. We also discuss the sample on this song, and Norm describes the importance of using a sample as a basis of what the song will be.

Welcome back to another episode of Baltimore County Forever Podcast. It’s episode 122 and we got my man Norm on. This week’s episode starts with some historical moments in Hip Hop history featuring BIG’s death anniversary and the effects it had on hiphop. Then we talk about Meg vs. 1501 and a crazy but dope dream I had about Hov & Emory Jones.

Then we get into the playlist. It features Mobb Deep’s “Man Down” I ask Norm how he feels about groups going their separate ways for solo projects or collabs outside of the group. Norm also gives me his pick between “Return of the Mack” and “Silent Partner.”

“Beautiful” by Snoop and Pharrell made the list too. I ask Norm to pick a producer, out of Dre, Daz, or Pharrell, to produce a Snoop album if it were his last.

We discuss The Notorious BIG recently being inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and I ask Norm what would it take for something like this to be formally recognized in Hip-Hop? Also, it was recently announced that the Neptunes will be inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame, which prompted me to ask Norm what would an accolade like that mean to him? Then he gives me his views on ghostwriting.

We discuss the 3rd verse and how Jay tackles people blaming Hip-Hop for what happens in the world.

Lil Wayne’s “Best Rapper Alive” is also on the list. We talk about Wayne’s new album on the way titled “The Funeral” and if he should retire after this album. We also discuss if Wayne has had his “4:44 album” yet.
