How can we understand our inner world as a place of forgiveness and creativity designed to shape a thriving world?
In this episode entitled Melodies Of Freedom, Amisha talks to Barbara J Hunt, a forgiveness specialist and bestselling author of "Forgiveness Made Easy". She has over 30 years experience in personal and spiritual development as a mentor, coach and group facilitator. She leads on-line "Forgiveness Field" working in private practice internationally and on bespoke retreats in rural Somerset in the UK. Barbara is also an integral musician and singer-songwriter, and her newest album and her next book are due to be released in 2023.
Barbara takes us into the deep layers of forgiveness work, a skill and practice she believes is a superpower. Forgiveness is a way of embracing our humanity and diversity to heal our souls and flourish our freedom; an effective tool that underpins restorative justice. She reveals that practicing three strands of forgiveness :: self forgiveness, asking for forgiveness and offering forgiveness :: draws on our imagination to clear grievances, resentments, trauma and cultural addictions making way for compassionate and thriving ways of life. Together they reveal personal experiences of putting this work into practice; the imagination it kindles, the strangled grief it releases and the healthy boundaries it forges. We hear some of Barbara's songs, responses to her life experiences. We learn that forgiveness is an act of amnesty and an invitation to move beyond cancel-culture into a peaceful future full of possibility.
