For this bonus episode, Kate is joined by Kate Casey (from the popular podcast Reality Life with Kate Casey) to discuss the future of reality TV, what it's like interviewing show insiders, her favorite docuseries/documentaries, Bravo, and many other topics. They also go deeper into HBO Max's The Vow, since Kate (Casey) has interviewed several subject matter experts on the NXIVM cult and has interesting insight into the motive of the cult's infamous leader. The other episode about The Vow came out earlier today so listen to both if you want the full scoop! Enjoy!

This week, Kate has two slightly different episodes that discuss topics related to HBO Max's hit series about the NXIVM "celebrity sex cult," The Vow. In this deep dive, Kate is solo and focuses on the psychological tactics used in the NXIVM cult and compares them to self-help gurus, religious organizations, and MLMs through discussion of the BITE model, Neuro-linguistic programming, and other facets of mind control. She also tells a semi-relevant story about why she got super into researching more about cults over the weekend after a spooky trip. This topic is a little- nay, a lot - outside of Kate's wheelhouse so forgive her for any clunkiness, however, she wanted to explore the 'whys' of how people got themselves into this criminal organization under the guise of professional development. The next episode (will be out soon) is a lighthearted conversation with Kate Casey from the popular podcast Reality Life With Kate Casey where they discuss The Vow (before Kate had finished it) and have a few different conversations surrounding reality TV and various docuseries. Enjoy!

This week, Kate gets vulnerable and discusses what no one wants from a childless millennial: opinions about the prospect of parenting, pregnancy, and motherhood. Rather than provide anything conclusive, she opts for a stream-of-consciousness approach about being at an age where decisions need to be made, feeling ill-equipped to make those decisions, and the implications of social media #momlife on her perceptions of motherhood. She also explores the impossible paradox of being at your career's height amidst your fertility's alleged decline and has an honest discussion about her fears for herself and her own mental health. After discussing this briefly on Instagram, Kate received hundreds of DMs from women at all different phases of their lives who inspired her to do this episode. The point is not to provide an unwanted opinion, but to allow women at any stage of this incredibly important life transition to be allowed to have a voice. At the end, she reads through her DMs to share the meaningful input people wrote to her that helped her feel better by showing a more realistic depiction of parenting outside of the harrowing hashtags. She understands this topic is sensitive, deeply personal, and easily spoken about incorrectly. But more important than being right, she wants you all to feel alright, and figured the first step toward overcoming this anxiety is to talk about it. Enjoy!

This week, per last Friday's Instagram story, Kate takes on the realities of women in the workforce and the [at times] hilarities of being in the corporate world. From business casual attire, e-mail passive aggression, and corporate jargon all the way to listeners' examples of gender coded condescension, she attempts to describe the issues women face at work through a comedic and analytic lens. Please advise. Warmest regards, Kate

This week's bonus episode is a conversation with BTI5 royal correspondent Merritt Beck (@merrittbeck, The Style Scribe) about Omid Scobie's book that details Harry & Meghan's time in the spotlight, "Finding Freedom." They discuss what stood out to them in each phase of their relationship, from the courtship, engagement, wedding, and baby to ultimately stepping down as working royals. Did Kate & Merritt think it was an accurate portrayal? Did they need all these elaborate descriptions of food? Do they believe Meghan *really* wasn't involved in perhaps the most flattering book of all time?
Note: Kate decided to upload the long uncut version, so this is longer than usual, but she assumed more is more when it comes to royal enthusiasts. Enjoy!
