I used to always feel ashamed and guilty when I learned something new and unpleasant about myself and realised I had not been perfect in the past, before I learned this new perspective or new consciousness. I expected myself to have like a quantum perfection - if I learned something today it should automatically update everything I did in the past. How great would that be if it worked?
Beating ourselves up for making mistakes is a bit like getting angry at ourselves because we did not know what we learnt in high school when we were in primary school.
Once we do learn a higher perspective and attain a higher consciousness, then we are not likely to make the same error again anyway, if we do then we have done it consciously rather than unconsciously like before. Then that is a different matter. We are human and humans are always expanding and growing into better versions of themselves so it is important to be compassionate with our past selves unconscious selves and forgive them for not behaving with the higher consciousness we have today…..
