We can often feel stuck in patterns and cycles marked by the wounds of our past hurts. But it is time to recognize the signs of healing and commend ourselves for our journeys thus far. By recognizing that we're healing (or have already healed) we can break free from old self-sabotaging patterns and proactively take steps towards the healthier and stronger lives we deserve.

It isn't always easy to know when to leave a relationship. The element of love makes things complicated, and we're often too close to know the right thing to do.
What are some signs that you should walk away and move on?

A HUGE thank you to you, my dear exclusive subscriber.
I've been thinking about the best way by which i can serve you, and i couldn't think of a better way than to provide a weekly thought-provoking, mind-tickling journaling prompt to help you on your self-discovery and self-growth journey.
I recommend that you actually pick up a physical pen and paper for these, but the choice is yours :)
See you every Thursday!

I think its safe to say i've finally figured it out: the single kindest, most hug-like question any of us can ask ourselves--especially on a rough day.
Its no surprise that life is tough. And while rooting ourselves in a strong community of friends and family is important for our mental health, we mustn't forget our own responsibility towards ourselves, to show up kindly and generously in all seasons.
Listen to today's episode for a practical tool you can implement into your routine, well, routinely!

It is absolutely crazy to think that just two years ago i was stuck in a miserable marriage, thinking nothing good or happy or peaceful could ever come of my life. There was no future in sight. Not even one that i could simply imagine. And yet, here i am, one year and eight months after leaving my marriage home, fully living with brand new perspective. I guess the thing about this insane life we’re all living is that the more we live the more we fall, and the more we fall the more we learn. Moving forward becomes an act of pure rebellion in and of itself as we load our arsenals with better navigation techniques, and then proceed with the rest of the climb.
I’ve learned a ton by going through what i went through, and i can’t help but wish i had known then what i know now. Stubborn as i know i am, i like to think i would have done some very big things very very differently.
So consider today’s episode to be a precautionary tale of sorts. A reminder for all of us to get our ducks in a row so we can engage in the relationships of our lives with more wisdom and awareness, hopefully sparing ourselves as much unnecessary heartache as possible.

About two years ago my whole life changed when i got married to the wrong person, was harassed at the airport and became the topic of national debate, and then got divorced as a young Christian Egyptian. Life as i knew it was uprooted and i had to reinvent my own definitions of good and normal and healthy and…even just okay. Because everyone around me seemed to have a different opinion on how they thought any given one of my unfortunate events should have unfolded. but after listening to good advice and filtering through A LOT of bad advice, i needed to, well…stop caring about what other people thought and simply do what was right for myself.
The thought of people caring and judging and criticising has kept me from doing so many things i’d been dying to do. Such as starting this podcast! Also such as speaking into the camera on instagram or writing poetry or sharing my paintings or sharing my workouts or speaking my mind. And i think there seems to constantly be an invisible, very critical audience sitting somewhere in the back criticising and judging most people who feel a creative urge of any kind. As with most (if not all) of the conversations we’ve had on the Being Aloud podcast, i know i’m not the only one. But what if i told you that no one really cares the way we think they do? What if i told you that the judgmental critic lives only in our heads, and not in the real world? How would your life change? How would your choices and decisions change?
I have only my own experience to draw from, and im here to tell you there’s nothing quite as freeing as letting that stuff go!
Today’s conversation is the pep talk i needed five years ago (at least).
