It’s a story which has rocked European headlines and diplomatic circles – as 26 year-old opposition journalist Roman Protasevich was arrested in Belarus over the weekend after his RyanAir flight was diverted by Belarusian fighter jets en route from Greece to Lithuania and forced to land in Minsk. Meanwhile, western powers, led by the US and EU, are calling for sanctions against Belarus, an ally of the Russian Federation.
