The Celtic Banshee | Paranormal Podcast

This episode we dove into one of Irish folklore's most haunting and honestly misunderstood entities — the Banshee — and what we found completely changed how we thought about her, because this isn't just a screaming monster from the woods, it's a weeping fairy woman who cries for you before someone in your family dies, which somehow makes the whole thing so much more unsettling and sad at the same time.

We broke down the surprisingly emotional history of the Banshee, traced her origins back to medieval Irish women called keeners whose singing at gravesides was so hauntingly beautiful they were believed to be fae, and went through every version of what she might look like — from a beautiful woman in white to a headless figure carrying a bowl of blood, and yes, we have opinions on which one is the most terrifying.

Then we got into a stack of encounters spanning from the 1800s all the way to Reddit, including a boy in a boarding school who heard her while his doctor stood right next to him and heard nothing, a person who listened to a crying voice change from a cat to a child to a woman outside their fifth floor apartment window while their mother in the next room heard absolutely nothing, and several stories where a knock at the door revealed no one — only for a family member to be found dead moments later.

We landed on viable and skeptical respectively, but the consistency across every single encounter — only the person whose family member is about to die can hear her — is the kind of detail that sticks with you long after the episode ends.

The Battersea Poltergeist | Paranormal Podcast

This episode we headed to 1956 southwest London to cover the Battersea Poltergeist — one of the most well-documented and genuinely unsettling poltergeist cases on record, involving a completely ordinary working-class family whose home was overtaken by twelve straight years of banging, scratching, levitating furniture, objects flying across rooms, and a teenage girl getting physically dragged out of her bed and arched into the air by something nobody could see.

We broke down the full timeline from the mysterious silver key that appeared on fifteen-year-old Shirley's pillow and kicked everything off, to the poltergeist eventually identifying itself through letter cards as a French royal ghost named Donald — who then started making demands, threatening arson, and actually following Shirley to work where his antics got her fired.

We got into the paranormal investigator who dedicated his life to the case, the locked room that filled up with thousands of handwritten notes, the grandmother who had a stroke and died after hearing what she believed was her deceased mother's voice, and the moment the family patriarch ended up in the hospital after being clawed and burned while trying to put out a fire that Donald started.

We both landed between viable and believable — because when neighbors, journalists, photographers, and investigators are all witnessing the same chaos from outside the house, and the letters are appearing in a room that was locked with a key only one person had, it's pretty hard to explain it all away.

Ohio Grassman | Paranormal Podcast

This episode we went full hometown hero mode and covered the Ohio Grassman — our very own Buckeye State Bigfoot that we, two native Ohioans who are very into paranormal stuff, somehow had never heard of until recently, which says something, but also says nothing, because the encounters we found are genuinely hard to dismiss.

We broke down the lore of this seven to nine foot tall, 800 to 1000 pound, aggressively territorial, absolutely terrible-smelling creature that builds grass nests, hunts deer, travels in family groups, and apparently has a particular fondness for lurking around Salt Fork State Park with its distinctly orange eyes.

We went through a stack of encounters spanning from 1896 all the way to 2006, including a family that saw it so often their daughter named it as a pet, a researcher who found a nest big enough for three grown men, and a listener submission from an 11 year old who stumbled upon a massive den in the snow with hair clumps, giant footprints, and three loud knocks from the tree line that sent his dad sprinting for the ATV.

We both landed on believable and viable respectively — because when multiple independent stories share the same specific behaviors like the wood knocking, the nest building, and the stench, it's hard to write the whole thing off as cornfield paranoia.

The Berwyn Mountain UFO Incident | Paranormal Podcast

This episode we dove into one of the UK's most compelling and frustrating UFO cases — the Berwin Mountains Incident of January 23rd, 1974 — where an entire Welsh village experienced violent earth-shaking, saw a massive pulsating reddish-orange orb hovering above the mountaintops, and then watched the evidence get buried, debunked, and dismissed for the next four decades while the people who tried to prove it happened took hit after hit.

We followed the journey of dedicated ufologist Margaret Fry, whose own close encounter in 1955 set her on a lifelong mission to make the world believe, and the nurse Pat Evans who drove toward the mountain that night to help potential crash victims and came back with a story so credible her entire village vouched for her word.

We got into the town halls, the anonymous letters, the shadowy neo-Nazi alien group with a cassette tape, the retired military officer with a fake name who claimed to have seen dead Roswell-style aliens in coffin boxes, the TV documentary that cut out the believers and handed the mic to the debunker, and the genuinely cruel joke that cost Margaret years of her life and a significant chunk of her credibility.

This episode we finally tackled one of the most universally known paranormal games in existence — Bloody Mary — and it turns out there's a lot more to it than just a dark bathroom and a dare, because we dug into the three historical women who might actually be behind the legend, from Queen Mary I burning 280 people at the stake, to Mary Queen of Scots having a genuinely chaotic life that ended with a botched beheading, to Elizabeth Bathory literally bathing in her victims' blood to stay young.

We got into the science of what your brain actually does when you stare at a mirror in the dark for too long, why 40 percent of people in a controlled experiment started seeing monstrous beings in their own reflection, and whether any of that actually explains away the six encounters we covered — including a girl who came out of the bathroom with scratches that weren't there when she went in.

Neither of us would play this game, which we agreed automatically removes unbelievable from the table, and we landed on viable and believable respectively — because even if the legend is made up, something seems to be answering when people call.
