My guest today is my friend, Joseph Weinberg. Joseph was an early investor in Bitcoin and director at Coinsetter until its acquisition by Kraken FX in 2016, Joseph Weinberg knows his way around the digital currency world. Presently, Joseph is the Chairman of Shyft; the leading credibility network, which leverages an open and unified blockchain framework to achieve greater standardization and efficiency in regulatory compliance and due diligence mandates. Joseph is also the co-founder and CEO of Paycase, A universal platform company that enables individuals, businesses, and financial institutions to connect to the Internet of Value for the purpose of cross-border settlement and remittance. His diverse experience also includes business development roles at both Xtreme Labs and Pivotal Inc., where he worked on building some of the largest mobile applications currently in use around the world today. Currently, Joseph plays an active role as advisor for the Ontario Securities Commision Fintech Board, while also lending his expertise to blockchain and cryptocurrency based startups. In our discussion, we cover compliance and regulation and the development of networks/social consensus layers within society. Joseph discusses how Shyft is building the tools for enabling social connectivity in a meta-verse first world. Joseph explains the travel rule and how Shyft is providing a platform for decentralized data storage that can be used for compliance and regulatory purposes. We discuss Uniswap's recent decision to delist certain tokens from their front end app interface and general landscape of DeFi and KYC/AML regulation. Joseph, goes on to discuss his experience living in the Amazon jungle and how that showed him how networks evolve within a society.
