This week we have a nutrition in the news episode all about Big Food and anti-diet influencers & dietitians! A juicy article came up on Washington Post that we *needed* to dig into, titled: As obesity rises, Big Food and dietitians push 'anti-diet' advice – and you KNOW we were going to have some opinions on this one. We discuss how anti-diet language is being co-opted, but not in the way the article mentions. Big Food is also starting to cash in on the anti-diet "trend" and marketing to reach more people. Let's discuss!
PS – I mentioned "the Examiner" as the other paper the Washington Post did this report with, it's actually "the Examination", which calls itself "a a new nonprofit newsroom specializing in global public health reporting."
PS – want to see more behind the scenes? Check out our planning doc over on Patreon for even more sass!
Resources Mentioned:Join our patreon community to get access to TWO+ years of bonus episodes, exclusive resources, and access to the final episode of each month. You'll also get behind the scenes bonus content and a safe space community to discuss the nuance of body image and food!
