In this Bike Tour Adventures interview I have the chance to speak with a group of adventurers that have recently completed a truly unique cycling adventure, while also working towards increasing public awareness of climate solutions, the importance of preserving the U.K's natural environment and finally encouraging others to explore the outdoors. In today's episode I am speaking with Isaac Kenyon, Alex Pierrot and Lucas Haitzmann, 3 of the 5 members of the team that this past summer cycled from the Orkney Islands in the north of the United Kingdom to the Isley of Scilly in the south, using bikes the entire way.  Listen in to find out how they accomplished this.

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast, I speak with Theo Kelsey-Verdecchia. Coming from Toronto, Canada, Theo has been crushing gravel routes these past couple years, setting an Fastest Known Time record on the BTXL in 2020. The BTXL, located in Southern Ontario, is a combination of the BT700 (768km) and the Grand Nith Ramble (350km) coming in at just over 1100km of riding, with 10400 metres of elevation. In 2021, Theo did it again and beat his own time, setting a new FKT of 84h 17m and also finished 1st on the Alberta Rockies 700, a gruelling race in the west of Canada.

The Log Drivers Waltz is an 800km bikepacking route that goes around Canada's capital city, Ottawa. Taking you through many of the small outlying towns, the LGW will challenge bikepackers with an abundance of rail trail, gravel roads, big climbs and beautiful vistas.

The Butter Tart 700, more commonly known as the BT700 is Ontario's premier bikepacking event help annually on the weekend closest to the summer solstice. Having now been around for several years, the BT700 has gone through growth and improvement and is now 760km long and includes more singletrack and gravel than any other route of this length in Ontario.

My ride review of the BT700 bikepacking route starting in St. Jacob's, Ontario achieving a short-lived FKT (fastest known time) of 56h 17m, before ultimately being beaten two days later by 2 hours.
