We discuss KP's impact on both ends of the floor, his ideal offensive role, how the Wizard deploy him defensively, whether he can be an All-Star this season, and why he doesn't get any mention during Defensive Player of the Year conversations. Osman Baig (@OBtoojiveforyou) of Bullets Forever joins the podcast to talk about the Wizards' loss to the Thunder and the return and reintegration of Bradley Beal. We discuss the positive takeaways from the game and try to sift through all of the hot takes floating around to make sense of what actually happened during the game and where the Wizards go from here. A lot of the discussion focuses on roster construction, the over-reliance on small guards under Tommy Sheppard, and how Wes Unseld Jr. can adjust his rotation to mitigate any roster shortcomings. The 42-point loss to the Nets was such a downer that it doesn't even seem productive to waste more mental energy on it (although we do provide some brief thoughts). Instead, Cooper Klein (@Alley_Oop_Coop) of the Upside Swings podcast (@Upsideswings) joins the show for a way too early mock draft. Mike Prada (@MikePradaNBA), staff editor for The Athletic, just authored "SPACED OUT: How the NBA's 3-Point Revolution changed everything you thought you knew about basketball." The book focuses on the paradigm shift in the way NBA basketball is played and the divergence in ideologies championed by the Warriors and the Rockets. Mike sheds some light into what teams are doing differently, why they're doing them, and how the Washington Wizards fit within that context. We also discuss specifically how the Wizards' strategies align with where the game is going, whether their personnel and draft picks have been representative of that, and if you really need a "traditional point guard" today.
