Bleav in Wizards

Osman Baig (@OBtoojiveforyou) of Bullets Forever joins the show to talk about the Wizards' free agency moves so far, their trade with the Denver Nuggets, and what their depth chart looks like now. We explain why Bradley Beal signing for 5-years, $251 million is actually a good thing even if you want the Wizards to trade him. The Wizards signed Delon Wright for 2-years, $16 million and Anthony Gill for another 2 years so we break down both of those signings. We also weigh in on the Victor Oladipo rumors that never materialized and the potential for a John Collins trade. Plus, our thoughts on trading Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith for Monte Morris and Will Barton.

Stone Hansen (@ReportCourt) of the Upside Swings podcast (@Upsideswings) joins the podcast to provide a thorough breakdown of the newest Wizards, Johnny Davis and Yannick Nzosa. Stone offers his rationale for why Wizards fans should be happy with the Davis selection as we review his strengths, weaknesses, and potential fit with the existing Wizards core. He also explains why we should not expect to see Nzosa in a Wizards' uniform anytime soon but why we might be able to justify having a shred of optimism about his long term future. This week's guest, Nick Kalinowski (@kalidrafts), is an up-and-coming NBA Draft analyst with a deep knowledge of even the least heralded prospects. Nick explains why he likes Peyton Watson as a high-upside option with the 56th pick, why fans should be patient with Isaiah Todd, whether Aaron Wiggins' success could be a good sign for Darryl Morsell, the point guard he likes at 56, the sales pitch for Jalen Duren, and the one player the Wizards definitely should not draft. We also spent a lot of time on Wisconsin guard Johnny Davis including his potential fit, his defense, how many tough shots he takes, and whether he can eventually run an offense. Plus, what to make of Jean Montero, whether Andrew Nembhard is worth trading up for, Shane Larkin's potential fit as a free agent point guard, and whether Collin Gillespie or Kofi Cockburn's games can translate to the NBA. Vince Williams Jr., Jordan Hall, Dereon Seabron, Patrick Baldwin Jr., Iverson Molinar, Makur Maker, Alex Barcello, Anthony Duruji, and Brandon Horvath were all discussed during this loaded episode as well.
