  • Press conference: Jurgen Klopp on Alisson boost, Rodgers return and why no cameras are allowed in the dressing room
Jurgen Klopp was back in front of the media at Melwood this afternoon to preview Saturday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City. As well as giving his opinion on the return of former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers – who also happens to be Klopp’s landlord – he also provided a big fitness update on Alisson Becker. However, news on Joel Matip’s and Xherdan Shaqiri’s fitness is less positive. Klopp went on to back Joe Gomez after the England defender’s display in midweek in Matip’s absence, reveals something that would make him leave Liverpool, confirms he once tried to sign a Leicester player, as well as detailing how his defence can stop Jamie Vardy. Enjoy – it’s a good one. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

  • Poetry in Motion: The defensive problem one man can solve and making the case for Keita
Neil Fitzmaurice returns with his brilliant Poetry in Motion podcast to pick the bones out of Liverpool’s thrilling 4-3 Champions League win at home to Red Bull Salzburg – and preview the visit of Leicester City to Anfield and the return of Brendan Rodgers. It’s hard to find faults with this magnificent Reds side but Fitzy, who is joined in the studio by ECHO duo Paul Gorst and Connor Dunn, wonders whether there is a problem at the back? And if there is, can the return of one player in particular solve it? Another long-standing question the panel try to answer concerns Liverpool’s lack of a No 10. Is it time Naby Keita or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are given the chance to fill the role? There’s also a lot of love for Roberto Firmino and Andy Robertson plus a laugh at Manchester United. Enjoy. • Post-Game: Reds made to work as Salzburg scare the European champions
Liverpool have their first win of this season’s Champions League campaign, but that doesn’t tell half the story. After taking a 3-0 lead at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s side looked to be in cruise-control, only for the Austrian outfit to fight back. Mohamed Salah’s second goal on the night got the job done for the Reds. Guy Clarke is here with Post-Game bringing you all the reaction you need. Hear from Paul Gorst as he shares his verdict, Jurgen Klopp’s post-match press conference and of course Liverpool fan reaction as the Reds were back at Anfield in Europe for the first time since that win over Barcelona in May.
