  • Behind Enemy Lines: The lowdown on the 'new Ajax' and the hottest young striker in European football
Now logic would suggest Liverpool will run out comfortable winners in their first home game of the Champions League campaign. But Red Bull Salzburg, Wednesday night's visitors to Anfield, are not a side to be underestimated. They have won 11 of the 12 matches they have played in all competitions so far this season, scoring an incredible 55 goals, and their 6-2 home win over Genk on match-night one in the Champions League certainly made the rest of Europe stand up and take notice. Leading the way that night was the 19-year-old Erling Haaland, who became the third youngest player to score a Champions League hat-trick behind Real Madrid legend Raul and a certain Wayne Rooney. But as you'll learn over the course of this podcast, Salzburg seem to have a lot more in the locker than just the prolific Haaland. Tom Middler, from the excellent Other Bundesliga Podcast in Vienna, also tells Paul Wheelock about Sadio Mane's and Naby Keita's reunion with their former club, and provides an insight into Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch, a Jurgen Klopp devotee who will be making history of his own on Wednesday when he becomes the first American to manage in the Champions League.
