This week GP Dr Abbie Brooks joins us to talk about the recent BBC show " The truth about boosting your immune system" which was presented by Dr Ronx- they had some great information to share in a very interesting documentary. Who knew that eating enough fibre, haviong enough vitamin D, moderate exercise, getting enough sleep, 30 second cold showers and having massages could be so important to our immune systems?
We also have the regular look at the medical news headlines and what's been featured recently on daytime TV.

This week, in our Christmas episode, Nik is joined again by GP Fiona Ritchie to talk about "Last Christmas" starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding . It's a fantastic seasonal watch, but also has some very strong health related themes to discuss. It has the potential to pack a massive emotional punch with some of our patients too, especially in these difficult times.
As it's Christmas, Fiona gets the chance to win a million (virtual) pounds! Will she do it, and will the experience help her to remember a tricky medical fact forever ?!?
All this and we also have the usual round up of the medical news headlines and what's been covered by daytime TV in the past week...

Whatever the case, it may result in patients coming to consult with us regarding body image and self esteem concerns. Would you go on?!
We also have the usual look at the medical news headlines- in trying to warn patients about the symptoms of bowel cancer, has one of the tabloids side stepped the dangers of an acute upper GI bleed? In our round up of daytime TV Christmas indigestion and red flags are covered...
