Myquillyn Smith (aka The Nester) has influenced the way I think about decorating my home for years, through her blog, social media, and books. Her latest book Welcome Home is about decorating your home for the seasons without buying a bunch of expensive decor, and how you can signal the natural cycle of the year using scents and textures and sound. These concepts apply even when you live somewhere where the temperature doesn't change much! 

Myquillyn gives me a little pep talk about creating a home that is the background for family memories, and she reveals a fairly genius way to decorate for the holidays that removes a bulk of the stress. (Why hadn't I thought of this before??)
