  • All Angels Have Wings by Mai Thomsen

There are two main characters in this book: Linda Hemmer and Arnold Buch. Linda is the main character, and she is our warrior. Linda is the good and emphatic character who gets broken down and ripped apart. She is the heartbeat of the story. Arnold is the protector. He is the strong man in a storm. With all the terrible things that happen throughout the story he is the bit of light. His relationship with his wife and the people around him makes us smile and help gets us through the hard parts.

Bodies are found buried in the woods, all of them with wings carved into the skin on their backs. Young women murdered, all looking the same and around the same age. All but one. The latest victim appears to be considerably older than the rest. She also seems to be the only one who was stabbed and buried alive.

When Arnold sees her, his whole world stops. He recognizes her. He also knows that this means the Angel Maker is back. A serial killer is out there looking for his angel, the one that Arnold took from him years ago.

The book is not for the faint of heart. However, the book contains humor, lots of it, but it is not a happy story. It is not uplifting, and it could be hard for some people to read. If you are not in a good place mentally, then this might not be the story for you.

  • The Forbidden Zone 1940 by Anne Angelo

The Forbidden Zone 1940 is a continuation of the story of Anne Angelo, as published in the companion book: A Sprig of White Heather and a Scottish Lass. It is a heart-warming story that completely justifies the researching and writing. It demonstrates how inexorably lives can be shaped and directed by the circumstances of birth and the environment in which the formative years are spent.

Born in Invergordon, Ross-shire, in the Highlands of Scotland, to parents utter opposites in cultural and social backgrounds, education, heredity, and race—and further, tragically, in conflict since the very day of their wedding—her world until the age of twenty was one of hatred and heartbreak, fear, and disillusionment and despair.

Released at that age, by entirely fortuitous circumstances over which she had no control, she enjoyed a period of blissful living in France. The coming of the War brought an end to that. The actions of the German Forces of Occupation against her drove her into her activities with the French Resistance.

It was inevitable she would be betrayed. She was forced to flee to the only place where she could be sure enemy agents could not reach her—her father’s house in the Scottish Highlands, where the security for the old naval base was still effective, but where she had no protection from her father’s wiles and hostile intentions.

In many ways, her story outdoes that of Hatter’s Castle. Clinging to the slender thread of the love she found in France, she endures. Until the sun shines and, in a surprising revelation, shows that motives and intents are not always what they are thought to be.

He also weaves in simple explanations of cutting-edge science and metaphysical ideas, explaining how they played a role in his recovery and wellness. Get answers to questions such as:

•What role does stress play in overall health?
•How can you look at wellness differently, to reclaim control of your health?

  • PRAYER IS A JOURNEY by John Wheeler

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: There is a picture of a Moon rock on the cover of the book and in the introduction as well. This rock probably lay on the moon for 4.5 billion years until it was discovered by NASA. Slowly consider how long 4.5 billion years is, then consider 4.5 billion times 4.5 billion, then consider ETERNITY.

Why is prayer a journey? It is a very easy question to answer as every soul on the planet is on a journey either to God or away from Him. For those on the journey to him to advance on the journey you must advance in prayer. The book is the journey of the author and his discoveries.

This book delves into the meaning of the gospel parables and the richness that abounds for those who make the discoveries inspired by the Spanish mystics. The book is a prayer journey from sinner to saint for anyone who is on the journey.

  • LEARNING EXPERIENCE TRILOGY: Book 2: MOOSE CONQUERING FEAR by Peter Massam

It is as easy to fall into a working life as it is into a new relationship, from which springs eternal the hope that both will last. Choosing ‘safe’ over ‘fear of losing’ can result in an increasing sense of uneasiness, harder to ignore or dismiss the more prolonged the endurance.

For George, confronting fears was a lifelong skill acquired over many years: taking the knocks, making ill-judged decisions, and not learning from past errors, all served to muddy the waters. Making the harder calls on personal and career transitions seemed to open up a chasm of doubt in his mind, but with the right support and a leap of faith in his own abilities, the challenges that lay ahead of him became as alluring as a late spring sunset after a rain-soaked day.
