Lori Vallow, infamously known as the 'Doomsday Cult' mom, returned to court to face two charges of conspiracy to murder her relatives, marking a new chapter in her ongoing legal saga. Already convicted of the murder of her children, Tylee and JJ, Vallow is now accused of conspiring to kill her husband, Charles Vallow, and her niece's husband, Brandon Boudreaux.

The alleged conspiracies unfolded amidst Vallow's descent into violent religious fanaticism, driven by her fixation on an impending apocalypse and her whirlwind marriage to doomsday author Chad Daybell in late 2019.

Vallow, who was recently extradited from Idaho to Arizona, faced the charges during a brief court appearance. She appeared in handcuffs and an orange prison jumpsuit, confirming her identity and acknowledging the allegations against her. Currently, she is being held without bond in Maricopa County Jail.

The new charges against Vallow stem from a grand jury indictment in 2021 related to the murder of her husband, Charles Vallow, in July 2019. Charles was fatally shot in Lori's Arizona home by her brother, Alex Cox, who later passed away of natural causes in December 2019. While Cox asserted self-defense as the reason for the shooting, prosecutors contend that it was a premeditated act carried out as both siblings embraced beliefs of an impending apocalypse.

It is alleged that Vallow and Cox, both devout Mormons, believed that the end times were imminent and that their relatives had become possessed by zombies. They purportedly believed that they could save their loved ones by killing them, with religious zealotry serving as a justification for their actions.

Prosecutors assert that the religious fervor was a cover used by the family to execute the murders. Among the alleged targets was Brandon Boudreaux, the husband of Vallow's niece, who survived a shooting from a moving car in October 2019. This incident occurred shortly after the last known sightings of Tylee and JJ.

The tragic discovery of the bodies of Tylee and JJ on Chad Daybell's property in June 2020 added another layer to this complex case. Daybell is also set to stand trial for the murder of the two children in April 2024.

The legal proceedings surrounding Lori Vallow have captivated the nation, shedding light on the disturbing beliefs and actions that led to the tragic deaths of her children and the alleged conspiracies against her relatives.
