Lindsay Clancy's foreperson sent Judge Sullivan two notes saying a juror wasn't following the law. Sullivan questioned each juror at the bench, believed the holdout's yes, and sent them all back. The jury deadlocked 11-1 and he called a mistrial. The holdout's own spokesperson later confirmed he googled altruistic filicide during deliberations — a term from the psychiatrist who testified for the defense. Another juror says the holdout was scrolling his phone while the rest of them tried to talk to him. Reddington wants the man's phone records and his sealed jury questionnaire, alleging he lied about a criminal record. Sullivan says none of it matters because it came out after the mistrial. Motta and Dreeke tear apart whether Sullivan had an obligation to ask the foreperson what she meant and swap the juror for an alternate.

Howard Cooper stood in court and told a judge Lindsay Clancy would testify she warned her providers about homicidal thoughts. Kevin Reddington denied it that night. Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke examine what that public promise means for two competing lawsuits against many of the same doctors. Patrick's lawsuit says those providers prescribed eight medications in about three weeks with no monitoring. Lindsay's suit argues the doctors should have known she was declining. Patrick testified he asked Lindsay if she needed to be kept from the kids. She said no. He testified no provider told him to keep them apart. Clinical notes from Tufts say Lindsay reported being "paranoid of getting suicidal thoughts" and fearing "something bad happening." Lindsay's lawsuit says those reported thoughts were really a voice telling her to harm the children. Both lawsuits say the providers never pushed further.

Sandra Birchmore's death was originally called a suicide by the state medical examiner. That same office changed the determination — to "undetermined," not homicide. Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke walk through the defense case and whether any single argument gives a juror enough doubt. Farwell's DNA excluded him as the father of Sandra's baby. The defense says no baby removes the motive. Prosecutors say motive depends on what Farwell believed, and his texts show he believed the baby was his. Sandra texted him congratulations about parenthood. The defense points to no struggle evidence — no DNA under her nails, no torn clothing. Sandra was four foot ten and Farwell six foot four. The federal statute requires proof he killed her to silence her. Farwell has pleaded not guilty.

Farwell faces federal murder charges alleging he killed Sandra to prevent disclosure. He has pleaded not guilty.
