September 10 What Keffe D Told Detectives Investigating Biggie's Murder
When LAPD detectives sat down with Duane "Keffe D" Davis in December 2008, they were investigating the murder of Notorious B.I.G. They had built a drug case to pressure Davis into cooperating. He was a person of interest in Biggie's killing because he drove an Impala matching the shooter's car and because he'd been at the party Biggie left minutes before being gunned down.
Davis denied any role in Biggie's death. Then, according to the detective who testified at his trial, he said four words that changed everything: "We did the other one." The other one was Tupac. That proffer session produced the confession that prosecutors played for a Las Vegas jury three decades later. On August 31, 2026, that jury convicted Davis of first-degree murder in under three hours.
The investigation that cracked Tupac's case was never designed for Tupac's case. It was built to find Biggie's killer. It found Tupac's instead — and then the LAPD shut it down. September 06 Keffe D's Sentencing Could Mean WHAT for Diddy?
Twenty-seven years after Tupac Shakur was shot on the Las Vegas Strip, a jury finally answered who pulled the case together — and it took them roughly three hours to convict Duane “Keffe D” Davis of first-degree murder. The case wasn't built on forensics. No weapon was ever recovered. No Cadillac was found. There were no phone records, no surveillance. Prosecutors built their entire case on Davis's own mouth: a 2008 federal proffer, a 2009 police interview, a 2017 documentary, and a 2019 memoir he promoted as the unfiltered truth. His defense spent nearly two hours in closing arguments trying to convince the jury that every one of those statements — made to police, to a film crew, to his own publisher, across eighteen years — was fabricated. The jury didn't buy it. Davis now faces life in prison at his October sentencing, has already told the court he plans to appeal, and asked for his phone and laptop back on his way out. But Davis's words didn't just convict him. Since 2008, he's used those same platforms to name Sean “Diddy” Combs in Shakur's murder, alleging a million-dollar payoff for the hit, routed through a Harlem contact named Eric “Zip” Martin. Combs has denied any involvement, and Las Vegas police have stated he's never been a suspect. Martin died in 2012. Orlando Anderson was killed in 1998. The other two men allegedly in that white Cadillac died in 2004 and 2015. Every independent voice that could confirm or dismantle Davis's version of events is gone — which means what happens to the Diddy allegation now rests entirely on how much credibility a convicted killer has left.

September 02 The Diddy Evidence in Tupac's Murder Has One Fatal Problem
Keffe D told LAPD investigators in 2008 that Sean "Diddy" Combs offered him a million dollars for the killing of Tupac Shakur. He placed the alleged conversation at Greenblatt's Deli in Los Angeles and said the payment was supposed to come through an intermediary named Eric "Zip" Martin. Combs has denied any involvement for thirty years. Law enforcement has stated he has never been a suspect. The jury in Keffe D's murder trial heard portions of the 2008 recording and testimony from the detective who conducted it. The allegation has lived in court documents, a Netflix documentary, and a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Tupac's family. What it has never had is corroboration — independent evidence that exists outside the mouth of the man making the accusation. Martin is dead. The alleged triggerman is dead. The two other men in the Cadillac are dead. No payment records, no surveillance, no weapon has been recovered. Davis alone remains, and he now claims everything he said was fiction.

August 30 Keffe D's Jail Call Named Tupac WHAT?!
The Keffe D murder trial just handed the jury its last piece of evidence — Duane Davis's own voice on a jail phone. This recap merges Wednesday's and Thursday's testimony into one look at how the prosecution built to that final moment in the case surrounding Tupac Shakur's murder.
The stretch opened with retired Compton gang detective Robert Ladd, who spent years working the department's gang unit and tracking the South Side Compton Crips closely enough to name the exact rank Davis held inside the gang — a rank that decides who gives the orders and who follows them. Tupac's childhood friend Malcolm Greenidge testified next about where the shots came from that night, and about everything Tupac had lined up before he died: a label, a new album, a meeting already scheduled with Quincy Jones. Crime scene analysts then laid out what a 2023 search of Davis's Henderson home turned up, including his own book and newspaper clippings about the murder that had apparently been sitting in that house for decades.
Then came the close: twenty-five witnesses, eight days, and a set of jail calls that did the heaviest lifting. Davis complaining his own words were being used against him. Davis on YouTube, pitching his book as "the real truth." And a call where the way Davis talked about Tupac points straight at motive — the same motive prosecutors have been building toward since opening statements.
The defense goes next, starting with a detective and two police officers. Closing arguments are set for Monday, and Davis has an overnight decision ahead of him — testify, or don't.

August 29 Duane Davis Claims Tupac Wasn't Even The Target
Two days in a Las Vegas courtroom, and Duane "Keffe D" Davis keeps handing the jury reasons not to believe him. This recap combines Monday's and Tuesday's testimony — Day 5 and Day 6 — in the trial over Tupac Shakur's 1996 murder. Monday's tape was a 2009 police interview: Davis walking detectives through the hunt that started at Club 662, a .40 Glock pulled from a hidden compartment, his nephew Orlando Anderson firing the gun, and his own claim that the bullets were meant for Suge Knight, not for Tupac. Jurors that day also heard from the photographer who captured the last picture ever taken of Tupac alive, and from a BET director who testified Davis was paid to sit for documentary interviews — interviews where he called himself the last man standing who could tell the real story, partly built on a sealed police recording that made its way to production through consultants tied to the original investigation. Tuesday's tape was a 2017 recording where Davis says Sean "Puffy" Combs wanted Suge Knight "taken care of," and where he describes calling Combs after the shooting and never hearing back. The defense fought to keep the recording out. The judge let it in. And when Davis was finally asked, directly, if he had anything to say to Tupac's family, what he gave them wasn't an apology. Combs has denied any involvement in Tupac's death and has never been charged. Davis remains the only person ever charged in the 1996 killing. Two days, two tapes, and Davis's own voice doing most of the damage.

August 29 Keffe D's Defense Lasted HOW LONG In Tupac's Trial?!
Under two hours. Three witnesses. That was the entire defense in the murder trial of the only man ever charged in Tupac Shakur's killing.
Two former officers testified about seeing a light-colored Cadillac at Suge Knight's house the night of the shooting, leaving as part of a convoy with Tupac's BMW. Then Dan Long — the detective who led the investigation for fifteen years — testified he couldn't verify key claims from Davis's 2009 interview. But the prosecution's cross revealed Davis had identified the same four men the investigation already suspected. Long also said he tried to arrest Davis in 2009 and was told by prosecutors to stand down.
Davis did not take the stand. The prosecution rested without rebuttal. Closing arguments Monday. The jury decides next week.

The prosecution rested its case in the Tupac Shakur murder trial after eight days and twenty-five witnesses. The final exhibit was a recorded jail call — and four words from Duane "Keffe D" Davis that the fiction defense can't touch.
Before resting, prosecutors played Davis on YouTube selling his book as "the real truth." They played him explaining why his side had reason to retaliate after the MGM Grand brawl. Then came the recording that closed the case — Davis on a monitored line, saying something no performer would say from inside a detention center.

August 26 Keffe D Was Identified As WHAT In Tupac's Trial?!
A former Compton gang detective told the jury on Day 7 what Duane "Keffe D" Davis was inside the South Side Compton Crips — and why that identity matters more than who pulled the trigger.
Robert Ladd identified Davis by a specific gang title and explained to the jury what a person with that title does. He doesn't carry the gun. He doesn't fire. He decides. Tupac's childhood friend Malcolm Greenidge testified that the shots came from the back seat of the white Cadillac. Davis, according to the prosecution, was in the front. Ladd's testimony tells the jury why that distinction is the entire case. Greenidge also told the jury what Tupac was building at twenty-five — his own label, an album with the Outlawz, and talks with Quincy Jones, his fiancée Kidada Jones's father.
All three other men allegedly in the Cadillac that night are dead. Davis is the sole survivor. Crime scene analysts showed the jury what he kept in his Henderson home for decades — his book and newspaper clippings about the murder.

August 25 What Keffe D Told The Camera About Tupac's Family
The jury heard Duane "Keffe D" Davis on a 2017 recording describing the night Tupac Shakur was killed. He named the gunman. He described the weapon. He discussed Combs and the money. And then the interviewer asked him one question that changed the shape of this trial.
Prosecutors played the Death Row Chronicles interview on Day 6 of the murder trial, with filmmaker Michael Dorsey on the stand. Davis discussed Combs allegedly wanting Suge Knight "taken care of" and then refusing to return calls after the shooting. The defense objected to the recording before it was played — they argued it contained references to other crimes. The judge allowed it with limiting instructions, a ruling that matters because the defense's entire strategy depends on the jury believing Davis made everything up for money.
Dorsey, who directed Murder Rap and consulted on the series, testified about recording the interview on his own phone and later contacting Las Vegas police. His recording captured audio before the official production recorder started. Combs has denied involvement and has never been charged.
