  • Ep. 19: Interview with Ashleigh Watson
Ashleigh Watson is a woman who has always motivated herself to push her limits in terms of her career and desire to fill the world with music. In the entertainment industry, it is very easy to get distracted by the naysayers who talk about the odds of quote and unquote ‘making it’. Even with that, Ashleigh stays true to her goals and herself and makes her life all about going above and beyond. Between releasing albums, doing her own daily admin and publicity, and living her best life, Ashleigh is the perfect example of how a “go get it” attitude can really benefit everything that you do. She is a working singer and songwriter, and successful at that. Ashleigh has recorded her own original music with top industry producers with bands on their repertoire such as Aerosmith. She has also had numerous original songs signed to libraries in other countries , appearing on projects filmed in Hollywood, airing around the world.
Speaking with Ashleigh was an amazing opportunity and here's a few of the bullet points that are good to keep in mind:
    1. There are no easy roads. Do the work for what you want to achieve.
    2. Make sure to write down your goals and roadmap your plan to reaching them and stick to it!
    3. Knockbacks will happen... But make sure you get back up and keep going!
    4. It's ok to lean on someone else for support. You don't have to go it alone.
    5. When change occurs, flow with it and stay assertive in your goal reaching efforts.

  • Ep. 18: Interview with Henry Howard
Henry Howard is a great example of a success story. Henry is a journalist for the American Legion in the meeting/communications department. He writes everything from magazine articles, social media articles, website articles, and everything in between. He also does regular articles for the Marathon Training Academy.
Henry had some amazing things to say and some of the bullet points of the things that have gotten him as far as he as are:
    1. Write your goals down and visualize your success.
    2. Include variety in your plan and have a few big goals on the horizon, but not too many big goals so as to avoid burnout and too much mental pressure.
    3. Consistently move the "goal line" so you always have things to work toward, especially if you aren't always motivated by just getting up and running for the sake of running.
    4. Don't sweat the small stuff. A bump in the road isn't going to dictate the endgame of your journey. Use the things that come up as lessons to find your way.
    5. It's you against you. You can only control what you can do, so just do your best.

  • Ep. 16: Keep going strong
In this episode, I talk about how to stay motivated as the "honeymoon phase" of the New Year wears off. During the first month of the New Year, it's easy for those resolutions to go the way of the dinosaur. As you know, I try not to use "resolutions" but that doesn't mean that you don't use them. It can be really challenging to get past that first month of goal setting. Once you make it past that, however, it will start becoming a more regular part of your life.

  • Ep. 13: Get To Know Your Host
In this episode of Breaking the Barrier, I unearthed a little of my personal history and story to help you understand a little bit more about why I do what I do. I wanted you to know where I come from so you can take confidence in knowing that I actually do practice what I preach.
I hope that you have learned a bit about myself and the journey I am on. I take comfort in knowing that whatever struggles I have gone through, it is possible to get through them and to help others do so.
