If you’ve written off the idea of ever engaging a volume builder because of the stigma or the cookie cutter approach, it might be worth revisiting. The systems and processes for volume builders have become a lot more sophisticated in recent years and while they might not be for everyone, they certainly are a fantastic option for some.

 

We’ve got Melanie Wessner on the show today, who is our admin angel here at BuildHer Collective. Melanie is also a qualified interior stylist with a great sense of style and she’s here to talk about her journey engaging a volume builder for her family home and the process she went through to arrive at this choice.

 

Melanie talks through the details of her od shaped block and the existing 2 bedroom house that needed a lot of work. After a lengthy process deciding whether to renovate or knock down and rebuild, Melanie and her husband eventually opted to engage a volume builder. Melanie shares the thoughts behind this process and how it was a really positive move that suited her family. 

 

We’ve all seen those suburbs filled with houses that look exactly the same, but volume builds have come a long way. If you are time poor, unable to afford an architect or perhaps your particular block of land is a turn off for some builders, a volume builder might just be for you.
