Self-esteem is essential to building a happy life. A child's self-esteem dictates things like how they like and value themselves as a person, whether they recognize their strengths and positive qualities, if they try new or difficult things, and if they believe they matter and are good enough. Today's podcast explains a fun and simple way kids can begin to boost their self-esteem by practicing non-judgment. Kids will create their own characters called JUDGEY and NON-JUDGEY, move their bodies, and journal about self-esteem. Building self-esteem is simple and just takes practice! The Kids Super Journal podcast will show kids how to begin! Join our community on Facebook and Instagram @kidssuperjournal!

For all of us, mistakes are a necessary and natural process of learning and growing that makes each of us more beautiful and unique! The Japanese art of Kintsugi shows us how! Kintsugi art repairs broken pottery by mending the breaks with lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. The imperfections are highlighted rather than disguised and the mistakes transform the original art piece into something even more spectacular. People are the same! We are all imperfect and make mistakes yet we often try to hide our imperfection from others and even from ourselves. Listen and practice with the Kids Super Journal community and notice what happens for you when you highlight your mistakes as beautiful!

The practice of receiving kindness is as important as offering kindness. Receiving kindness enables us to better offer kindness to others. You need both to create a cycle of wellbeing! This fun mindfulness practice asks you to bring to mind a person who has shown you kindness and to spend time noticing how that person made you feel. Noticing and accepting kindness is powerful because it is the key to offering kindness out into the world.
