In Today’s short episode, Henry briefly discusses what’s going on Idlib and an air strike warning app that helps Syrians dodge death.

 

 

It seems there is a huge culture shift regarding U.S foreign policy in Afghanistan. The U.S has been in talks with the Taliban since July regarding a peaceful resolution to a seventeen-year war.  Today, we briefly explore the origin story of the Taliban, Mujahideen, and the Soviet-Afgan War.

Today, Danny Abdeljabbar and Judah Shleifer debate the quote ” “If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more ‎violence. If the Jews put ‎down their weapons ‎today, there would be no ‎more Israel’‎”.  Take note that Danny is Palestinian and Judah is Jewish. They were able to have a very civil and productive conversation on this topic. Anyone who listens will get a lot out of this. Our goal is to have more discussions like this that bring people together.

Many people think that Russia’s interest in supporting Syria’s al-Assad started only a couple of years ago. In reality, Russia and Syria have had a close relationship since the end of World War Two.

Today Danny and Henry cover what has been going on Syria over the past couple of days and go over how the Russo-Syrian alliance started.

Japan has increased their defense spending for the seventh consecutive year. They claim this is due to Chinese expansion in south pacific as well as the North Korean threat. However, could there be another reason?

The Syrian Army has surrounded the last rebel stronghold in the city of Idlib, but the international community warns Syria not to move forward with an assault.

Recently retired four-star general John W Nicholson says “It is time for the war in Afghanistan to end”. Today we dive into why empires fail to occupy the harsh terrain of Afghanistan.
