Broeske and Musson

Seven California gubernatorial candidates squared off in a tense, nationally televised debate on CNN. Immigration and healthcare were the two big issues.  Katie Porter and Tom Steyer argued California must move toward single‑payer, saying it’s a moral and economic necessity. Matt Mahan warned supporters of single‑payer haven’t explained how to pay for it. Steve Hilton drew attention by saying he's only person whose had to live with single payer healthcare and no one likes it when they have it.

California is accusing State Farm of illegally delaying, underpaying, and mishandling thousands of wildfire insurance claims from the 2025 Los Angeles–area fires. State Farm flatly denies the state’s findings and says California regulators are using the investigation to score political points rather than reflect reality. This comes as LA Mayor Karen Bass is up for reelection.  With the release of this report, are Democrats trying to protect her?

Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui apologized to White House Correspondents' Dinner suspected shooter Cole Allen because he found the suspect’s jail conditions excessively harsh, unjustified, and unlike anything he had seen for January 6th defendants.
